Jailbreak Apps & Tweaks

These are the latest jailbreak apps and tweaks available for your iPhone or iPad. We save you time by highlighting only the best tweaks.

Appendix: launch apps from folders using 3D Touch

Appendix is a new jailbreak tweak that breathes new life into Home screen folders on iOS. It allows you to launch apps directly from folders using the iPhone 6s' 3D Touch gesture.

Instead of having to open a folder to select an app that you wish to launch, users with Appendix installed, a free jailbreak tweak now available on Cydia, can open apps with a single gesture. It's not the perfect solution for directly launching apps found in folders, but it's pretty interesting nonetheless.

Tweaks of the week: BackupAZ, Eclipse, Lylac, NCCards, and more

Another week, another steady flow of new tweaks. We're still waiting for that one tweak that could potentially take the crown of best tweak of the year, but in the meantime, we'll remain grateful for what we have.

Slightly off topic, if you haven't yet, you should listen to this week's episode of Let's Talk Jailbreak where I talk to Kevin Bradley (aka nitoTV) about the history of Apple TV jailbreaking.

Lylac jailbreak tweak lets you customize your iPhone’s App Switcher

Lylac is a recently released jailbreak tweak that functions as an infusion of Control Center and the iOS App Switcher. Like many tweaks before it, Lylac aims to merge both interfaces together for the sake of convenience.

Along with the merged App Switcher interface, Lylac brings additional menus to the App Switcher for performing resprings, reboots, killing apps, and other similar tasks. The tweak also allows users to change the App Switcher layout, and alter the look of the interface using tint and blur value changes.

Springtomize 3 has been updated for iOS 9 and is launching soon

The tweak that many of you have been waiting for is almost here. Springtomize 3, the legendary jailbreak tweak originally from Filippo Bigarella, is right around the corner for iOS 9. Earlier today, a copy of the tweak landed in my inbox, and I've been testing it out throughout the day and into this evening.

In case you're not familiar with Springtomize, it's a tweak that essentially allows you to customize a wide variety of SpringBoard attributes. You can change the size of app icons, change the look of the dock, hide icon labels, and adjust animation speeds. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Cydia Substrate updated to version 0.9.6110

Saurik has pushed an update to Cydia Substrate, bringing the package to version 0.9.6110. The update contains fixes for corrupt extensions, which some developers apparently use for obfuscation purposes.

Prior versions of Cydia Substrate made attempts to detect whether an extension's installation might cause the process to crash, yet by doing so, it ended up resulting in Cydia Substrate crashing itself. With version 0.9.6110, this should no longer be the case.

Tweaks of the week: LockBeam, Aeternum Hives, and more

Like every Sunday, we bring the newest jailbreak tweaks directly to you so you don't have to spend time scrolling down Cydia looking for what's new. Everything's here in one convenient list for you to peruse.

This week wasn't very eventful on the jailbreak tweaks front, with a number of releases that definitely won't shake the community. Still, we're grateful for all these developers pushing new tweaks and allowing us to do much more with our iPhones than Apple intends us to.

BreadCrumbArrow: a new jailbreak tweak that removes back-to-app text in the status bar

iOS 9's new back-to-app feature, which places a handy link in the upper left hand corner of the status bar to venture back to a prior used app, is a wonderful new feature. But not everyone is thrilled over the fact that it truncates that normal information contained within the status bar, effectively hiding the cellular data signal and carrier name, and other information in the process.

BreadCrumbArrow is a brand new jailbreak tweak that aims to modify the back-to-app links in such a way that they still display the iPhone's cellular data information. Instead of the name of the app, only the small arrow resides in the upper left-corner of the status bar as a means to link back to the original app.

BytaFont 3 goes live on Cydia to bring custom fonts to iOS 9

Good news for all of you custom font lovers out there: BytaFont, the jailbreak app that lets you install custom fonts on your jailbroken iPhone, is now updated for iOS 9.

BytaFont 3 supports swap mode for iOS 9, new font weights and more. If you're at all keen on customizing the iOS fonts used throughout the entire iOS interface, or within specific apps, then BytaFont is a jailbreak app that worthy of taking for a spin.

Tweaks of the week: Popcorn, Tactful, and more…

Now that Apple has stopped signing iOS 9.0.2, any chance to downgrade to that firmware version has gone down the drain, so we sure hope you did what you had to do when it was still possible to do it.

This week saw once again a solid amount of jailbreak tweak releases. We're still waiting for "the" tweak for iOS 9, but until then, all these smaller releases will do just fine.

In this post, we list all the tweaks that were released this week on Cydia. Check them out, and tell us which ones are your favorites.

How to auto-close browser tabs when tapping the back-to-app button [jailbreak]

BrowserBreadcrumbCleanup is an awkwardly named, but very useful jailbreak tweak that helps you keep your open Safari tabs to a minimum when using back-to-app breadcrumb links.

Normally, when you tap the back-to-app breadcrumb link in the status bar, you're shipped back to the original app, but the Safari tab stays opened. With BrowserBreadcrumbCleanup installed, Safari tabs are automatically closed when venturing back to the original app. Watch our video walkthrough for an explanation.
