Sources reaffirm new 256GB iPhone 7 storage tier

Industry sources told Taiwanese trade publication DigiTimes that the iPhone 7/7 Plus (no, there won't be a third 'Pro' tier) will feature up to 256 gigabytes of storage, effectively doubling the current top-of-the-line 128GB storage tier. The 256GB iPhone 7 tier was previously reported by Chinese-language MyDrivers, research firm TrendForce and PocketNow.

Leaked AT&T memo suggests September 23 iPhone 7 retail availability

Credible sources have said that Apple is planning to unveil the next iPhone at a media event scheduled for Wednesday, September 7, with pre-orders beginning on Friday, September 9 ahead of retail availability on the following Friday, September 16. An internal document from AT&T leaked by 9to5Mac, however, now suggests that the handset may actually land on store shelves on Friday, September 23.

Feast your eyes on crips shots of iPhone 7 Pro in Space Black and Deep Blue

If you can't get enough of Space Black/Deep Blue iPhone colorways, we've got you covered with some nice looking photos of alleged iPhone 7 Pro units in Apple Watch-style Space Black finish that's supposed to replace the current Space Gray option. Plus, we have a bunch of crisp shots of a working iPhone 7 Pro prototype in Deep Blue.

Feast your eyes on the photos and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

iPhone 7 may implement fast-charge technology

Many Android devices, like Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, can go from zero to fifty percent charge in about thirty minutes, and Apple's next iPhone could be able to offer a similar fast-charge technology of its own, according to a sketchy post attributed to an unverified Chinese source.

Smartphone leakster The Malignant tweeted out an image of a supposed circuitry which the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus should utilize to support at least 5-volt, 2-amp fast-charging, a major improvement over current iPhone chargers rated at one amp.

Here are the best iPhone 7 Space Black images yet

Dummies produced by third parties previously hinted at what an Apple Watch Space Black-like colorway reportedly in tow for the next iPhone might look like. Such photos are as fine as plasticky dummies go, but there's nothing quite like seeing the real aluminum unibody construction with Apple fit and finish.

Leaked out of China and discovered by Dutch blog TechTastic.nl, the latest batch of photographs presumably taken inside a Foxconn factory give us our best look yet at the rumored Space Black finish for the iPhone 7.

Photos of alleged iPhone 7 Plus casing leak out of Foxconn factory

Allegedly genuine images that surfaced on Chinese forums this weekend, discovered by Dutch blog TechTastic.nl, seem to offer a closer look at an iPhone 7 Plus casing inside a Foxconn factory. Someone who appears to work on the factory floor has been photographed holding what resembles a casing for an iPhone 7 Plus in their hand, showing it from various angles. The images corroborate previous leaks and mark the first time photos of an iPhone 7 unibody chassis have leaked out of Foxconn.

New iPhone 7 dummies show what Space Black model might look like

With a little more than three weeks left until Apple's supposed unveiling on September 7, various iPhone 7 dummies have been cropping up everywhere. Judging by the comments, many of you are excited about a rumored Space Black (or Deep Blue?) colorway replacing the Space Gray finish in the iPhone 7 lineup.

A fresh batch of images posted yesterday to Chinese microblogging service Weibo, republished by AppleInsider, showcase an alleged 4.7-inch iPhone 7 model in Space Black, as well as two 5.5-inch models with and without a magnetic Smart Connector on their backside.

Leaked iPhone 7 assembly instructions reveal a second mic, haptic Home button

iPhone 7 dummies and alleged components that have been leaking out of Asia in the past few months have more or less consistently shown a second speaker grille to the left of the Lightning port at the bottom. Many people are convinced that the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack has created space inside the device for another speaker, indicating that the next iPhone may finally have stereo sound.

That conventional wisdom is now called into question as French blog NowhereElse.fr points us to alleged technical drawings, obtained from a Foxconn plant, suggesting that another mic, not a speaker, may be hiding behind these additional speaker holes.

Is Apple planning to announce iPhone 7 on September 7?

With no official invites going out yet, speculation continues to mount as to when Apple might be holding a media event to announce the next iPhone. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are going to be unveiled at an event tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 7, less than four weeks from today.

His report yesterday about the next MacBook Pro with an OLED touch strip mentions as a side-note that the refreshed notebooks “aren’t likely to debut at an event currently scheduled for September 7 to introduce next-generation versions of the iPhone”.

Purported fully assembled iPhone 7 front panel shown on images

In addition to a fresh batch of crisp, high-resolution shots showing a purported iPhone 7 in Gold pictured alongside its 5.5-inch brethren that surfaced on the web, here's another leak to chew on this morning—prolific French leakster Steve Hemmerstoffer shared via his @OnLeaks Twitter account these claimed photographs of a fully assembled front panel for the upcoming devices.

Photos of iPhone 7/Plus dummies (or are they?) in Gold surface on the web

Crisp images of alleged iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices in Gold surfaced today, first discovered by Czech blog Letem svetem Applem. According to mobile peripheral website Topp Ten, which provided the images, the phones will be offered in a Deep Blue variant replacing Space Gray, in addition to existing Rose Gold, Gold and Silver colorways. It's also possible that the pictures show iPhone 7 dummies, which are readily available from sites like AliExpress.
