Jailbreak tweaks of the week: Tap to Translate, Initialized, & more…

It has been an incredibly busy week for the jailbreak community and for iDB this week following the official release of an iOS 9.2-9.3.3 jailbreak from Pangu, and as a result, things are starting to pick up again.

In this piece, we'll talk about all the jailbreak tweaks that were released this week. We'll start with our favorites, and then move on to the rest later in the piece.

Pokémon GO update adds avatar customization, UI tweaks, & performance improvements

Pokémon GO is one of the most popular free apps in the App Store today, and it has received a free app update on Saturday for both the iOS and Android platforms.

The iOS version has been brought up to version 1.1.0 and packs a decent list of changes that will appeal to all players. In this piece, we'll talk about the new changes you'll find in the latest version of the game.

iOS 9.3.3 Jailbreak FAQ: Everything in a nutshell

The iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak has only been out for about a week, but it seems there is still a lot of confusion about it. As we tried to clear things up for the Chinese version of the jailbreak, Pangu released an English version for all platforms, which really shook things up and added more confusion.

In this all-in-one FAQ post, we'll try to discuss the jailbreak from all angles, clearing up all any any remaining confusion that there might be.

Now that the English jailbreak tool for iOS 9.3.3 is out, will you jailbreak?

The jailbreak for iOS 9.2-9.3.3 has been out since last weekend, but it wasn't until Friday that Pangu got to launching an English version of the once Chinese-only jailbreak tool.

As we know many of you were holding out for an English jailbreak and for a few updates to the tool for stability, we're curious about whether or not you'll be making the jump now that the English tool is out.

How to jailbreak iOS 9.3.3 with Pangu [English]

Pangu released an English version of its iOS 9.2-9.3.3 jailbreak tool on Friday, which gets the same job done as the Chinese jailbreak tool that was released over the weekend.

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to jailbreak your iOS 9.3.3 device with Pangu on Linux, Mac, and Windows with the new tool.

How to play Pokémon GO on your jailbroken device

If you have a jailbroken iPhone, which is likely after this weekend's release of the Pangu jailbreak for iOS 9.3.3, then you've probably already found that Pokémon GO can't run on a jailbroken device. It'll crash at startup instead.

In this tutorial, we'll show you a workaround so you can play Pokémon GO on your jailbroken iPhone without it crashing every time it starts up.

Controlling what your Eevee evolves into in Pokémon GO

Eevee is an unusual Pokémon in the hit mobile game because unlike other Pokémon, it can evolve into three possible outcomes. Those three are Flareon (fire), Jolteon (electric), and Vaporeon (water).

Typically, when you evolve an Eevee, the outcome is going to be 100% random, but as the game publisher Niantic confirmed this week, there is a small cheat that you can use to actually control what your Eevee evolves into, and we'll talk about that in this tutorial.

This tweak brings iOS 8-styled alerts back to iOS 9

iOS 9 made some UI refinements over iOS 8, despite the fact that most of the UI looks primarily the same as before. One of the things Apple tweaked were the alerts that can pop up on your screen from notifications.

In iOS 9, Apple changed the design a little bit and made the corners much rounder, and if you aren't a fan of the change, then a new jailbreak tweak called 8Alerts may tickle your fancy.

Apple is reportedly revoking some certificates used to jailbreak iOS 9.3.3 from Safari

Over the weekend, Pangu and 25PP launched a jailbreak for iOS 9.2-9.3.3, and not long after, iOS developers found a way to make the jailbreak possible via the Safari web browser without the need to use a computer.

Unfortunately, however, Apple appears to be blocking the enterprise certificate that has been used in this process, so attempting jailbreaks from the device itself isn't currently working.
