Sam Bingner teases Cydia on iOS 14

Apple officially unveiled iOS and iPadOS 14 for the first time on Monday as a part of its WWDC 2020 Keynote, and just this morning, checkra1n team co-developer Dany Lisiansky teased a screenshot of the checkra1n jailbreak working on an iPhone running iOS 14. If the words “that was fast” uttered from your mouth upon seeing this, then you’re not alone.

Lisiansky admitted that there was still a lot more work that needed to be completed before checkra1n could be deemed iOS 14-compatible, but as you might come to expect, things are progressing rather quickly thanks to the unique talent encompassed within the checkra1n team. Jailbreakers got their own keynote presentation this week in the form of WWTC 2020

A lot of the focus this past week has been on Apple’s WWDC 2020 keynote in which the Cupertino-based company unveiled the latest and greatest operating systems for its line of devices including iPhones and iPads, Apple Watches, Apple TVs, and Macs, among other things. But one of the things that got overshadowed amid all the excitement was a parallel address centric to the jailbreak community known as WWTC 2020.

WWTC stands for Worldwide Tweaks Conference, and it’s fundamentally a live-streamed presentation akin to Apple’s WWDC in which jailbreak developers take the stage to discuss some of their creations rather than Apple’s executive staff taking the stage to discuss the company’s latest and upcoming software.

Checkra1n team gets jailbreak working on iOS 14 beta

It was only a couple of days ago that Apple unveiled iOS and iPadOS 14 during the company’s WWDC 2020 keynote. Shortly after that, Apple launched its first developer beta of the updated mobile operating systems, allowing developers to go hands-on with the new features and prepare their apps for the update before it launches sometime this Fall.

While iOS and iPadOS 14 snagged a ton of features from the jailbreak community as Apple does every year with each substantial release, it doesn’t seem like jailbreaking will be going anywhere any time soon. Colorize the page dots on your jailbroken handset with Dots color

Jailbreakers can customize virtually anything they want about their iPhone or iPad’s user experience and behavior, but if you consider yourself a bit of a minimalist and prefer subtler changes over the more extravagant ones, then we think you might want to try a new and free jailbreak tweak release called Dots color by iOS developer 8a1wkar.

Just as the tweak’s name implies, Dots color lets users apply a custom color to the paging dots that typically appear on the Home Screen and Lock Screen. As you’ll see in the screenshot examples above, the selected page dot remains white, whereas the deselected page dots appear red instead of grayed out.
