Saurik updates Cydia Impactor with bug fixes and improvements

On Sunday, Cydia creator Jay Freeman (Saurik) issued a modest update for his Cydia Impactor utility for Mac, Windows, and Linux with bug fixes and improvements.

One of Cydia Impactor’s primary use is to side-load jailbreak apps for modern tools such as Electra, Meridian, and Yalu, but a recent issue involving authentication resulted in users receiving error code 160 when attempting to use the utility.

Meridian iOS 10.x jailbreak released with support for all 64-bit devices

After a lot of hype, the Meridian iOS 10.0-10.3.3 jailbreak tool with support for all 64-bit iOS devices has been released to the public on Tuesday.

Made possible by PsychoTea, Siguza, and various other contributors, the Meridian jailbreak is particularly significant. It works with all versions of iOS 10, whereas Luca Todesco’s Yalu jailbreak tool only supported iOS 10.0-10.2. Furthermore, Meridian even supports the iPhone 7, which Yalu did not.

Tihmstar drops a developer jailbreak for Series 3 Apple Watches running watchOS 4.1

Whenever you hear the word “jailbreak,” Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV are some of the first devices that come to mind. But while the idea encompassing an Apple Watch jailbreak has been tossed around in the community for years, no large-scale Apple Watch jailbreak has ever made it to fruition.

While a developer-focused ‘prototype jailbreak’ dubbed overcl0ck was released at the start of 2018, it wasn’t quite what jailbreakers expected. But now, iOS hacker tihmstar has gone public with a new developer jailbreak for the Apple Watch dubbed jelbrekTime.

SemiRestore11 ‘un-jailbreaking’ tool for Electra1131 to be released “at any time”

Several years ago, Saurik released an un-jailbreaking tool known as Cydia Eraser so that jailbreakers could revert their pwned devices to a stock state any time they wished. But it hasn’t received any updates for some of the latest jailbreakable firmware versions, leaving much of the community in a state of confusion.

Fortunately, the Electra Team plans to change that. Team member Pwn20wnd announced on Monday the completion of an un-jailbreaking tool dubbed ‘SemiRestore11,’ which will roll back any jailbreak performed with Electra1131.

Electra Team: iOS 11.2-11.3.1 jailbreak tool “will be dropping within a few days”

Good news on Wednesday for those who’ve been eagerly awaiting a jailbreak for iOS 11.3.1: the Electra Team announced that their upcoming jailbreak tool would be released in coming days.

As it would seem, the Electra Team will use an in-house APFS bypass to solve the remount issue that was delaying the tool’s release. Now all that appears to be left is a bit of packaging and polishing before Electra 11.3.1 becomes readily available to the public.
