Cydia was recently updated with a new user interface for iOS 7, but still has the same logo that dates back to the days of iPhoneOS 2.0. Thankfully, there is a rather simple method that can be followed to replace the current Cydia logo with one that has a more flat or modern design. Those interested can find step-by-step instructions ahead…

Saurik talks MobileSubstrate, 64-bit jailbreak tweaks and more
The unexpected arrival of an iOS 7 jailbreak has been a welcomed touch to the holidays for most iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users, except for those with the latest devices. The all-new iPhone 5s, iPad Air and second-generation iPad mini, each powered by an Apple A7 chip, have faced compatibility issues with most popular jailbreak tweaks. Thankfully, that shouldn't be the case much longer…

BiteSMS beta 8.0 for iOS 7 is a work-in-progress
While the wait continues for an updated version of MobileSubstrate, following the unexpected release of an iOS 7 jailbreak, the developers of biteSMS are moving ahead with an updated version of the popular jailbreak tweak for iOS 7. BiteSMS beta release 8.0 remains a work-in-progress, and should be seeded to the public in the coming days.
An official post on the biteSMS forums reads:
How to fix Cydia “failed to fetch” errors by removing the UltraSn0w repo
One of the more common error messages that new Cydia users will come across is the error that says Failed to fetch [...] HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found. This is a typical 404 message that you get when you visit a webpage location that no longer exists. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but it causes an error message to appear in Cydia each time you refresh your list of packages and it attempts to pull data from the non-existent UltraSn0w repo.
You'll receive an error that states: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead. Yeah, so no big deal, but it's still a huge annoyance, because this interrupts the stream of refreshing the list of Cydia packages. The fact is that you'll probably never need to use UltraSn0w, and even if you did, you can always add the repo back to Cydia manually.
Cydia updated for iOS 7
Ladies and gentlemen, the much anticipated Cydia 1.1.9 update for iOS 7 is out right now, and it looks good. We have a full video walkthrough in the works, but for now, head over to Cydia to find the upgrade to the Cydia installer and UIKit, and have at it. The tab bar icons were designed by Surenix, the UI Icons were made by Kyle Matthews, and it looks ridiculously good.
List of iOS 7 compatible jailbreak tweaks
Ok, now that you've jailbroken your iOS device running iOS 7 with evasi0n7, what do you do? Which tweaks work and which ones don't? This is one of the most frequently asked questions we've received this morning, so we figured we'd better start making a list.
Most tweaks that rely on Mobile Substrate aren't working, as it's currently broken, but there are a few that seem to be ok. Below you'll find all of the iOS 7 compatible jailbreak tweaks that we're aware of, broken down into those working, and those 'sort of' working...
Cydia is installed on my iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3
Developer @winocm has been pretty vocal as of late about his intentions to eventually release a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 devices. Although we generally take such claims with a heaping helping on my favorite seasoning, winocm is, from what I've been able to gather, a respectable member of the jailbreak community.
After all, this is the same developer that worked on an iOS 6.x downgrade, the jailbreak tweak Accentify, and has had various other contributions to the community. Needless to say, when he announced that he had an untether binary that still needed a bit of work, my ears perked up.
A few days ago, winocm reached out to iDB about his progress on the jailbreak. Although the project is still knee deep in its development phase, he did allow us to go hands on with some of his work. Today, with the help of winocm, I was able to install Cydia on my iPhone 4S running 6.1.3. If we're ever going to see a proper tool released for the iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak, he just could be the developer to do so.
Yes, we have video of Cydia running on my iPhone 4S, and yes it's legit. Although he has asked us not to speak about the process involved in getting a working Cydia on my 4S, I was there and watched him perform the process from start to finish. In other words, I can vouch for the Cydia install, and I can certainly vouch for video's legitimacy. Have a look...
New GlyphPatch tweak patches recently exposed DoS exploit in iOS
Filippo Bigarella has released a new jailbreak tweak this weekend called GlyphPatch. The utility patches the recently exposed DoS exploit which targets Safari's WebKit engine and causes apps to crash when rendering a malicious sequence of characters.
The bug, which was made public last week, affects users on both iOS and Mac and can be triggered through a few different surfaces: SMS, iMessage, the web, and network SSID. But jailbroken iOS users can protect themselves from it with this new tweak...
New jailbreak tweak FaceHalt brings Samsung’s Smart Pause feature to iOS devices
Samsung's Galaxy S4, released back in the spring of this year, is loaded with a number of unique software features. And one of them that has been getting a lot of attention is Smart Pause, a mechanism that auto-pauses a movie when you look away.
While I myself have never lusted after such a feature, I can see how it would come in handy in a variety of situations. So I was happy to find out that you no longer have to buy a Samsung device to get it. You just need the new 'FaceHalt' jailbreak tweak...
Safari Upload Enabler finally updated with support for iOS 6
Folks who have been around the jailbreak community for a while will likely remember a popular tweak called Safari Upload Enabler. Before Apple added the ability in Safari to upload photos and videos in iOS 6, it was one of the only ways you could natively upload files from within the mobile browser.
Well we have some good news today for all of you jailbreakers, Safari Upload Enabler has finally been updated with support for iOS 6. Developed by H. Samara and N. Bassen, the new version of the tweak is out in Cydia now with a number of improvements, including a new Dropbox API and more...
Give your iPhone an iOS 7 makeover with this new theme
Folks feeling left out of all of the iOS 7 beta festivities will be happy to hear that there is now a way you can get in on the fun—no developer account required. A new theme just popped up in Cydia that promises to give your jailbroken iPhone an iOS 7-style makeover.
Now, obviously it's not going to be exactly like iOS 7. You're not going to get any of the new features that come with the major update, like the control center or the revamped Notification Center. But if you just want your iPhone to look like iOS 7, this theme is for you...
