Beats 1 Radio goes live in Singapore

Apple's global 24/7 Internet radio station, Beats 1 Radio, has gone live in Singapore on Tuesday. As first reported by Mashable, the online radio station has arrived to Singapore almost two years after Apple's streaming music service first launched in the country. Beats 1 Radio debuted in 100+ countries. The online show does not require an Apple Music subscription to listen to and is being aired live from Los Angeles, New York and London, with an anchor DJ producing the show in each city.

Created by You Know Films in association with Atlantic Films, “808: The Movie” is all about the legendary programmable drum machine from Roland that's largely responsible for the recognizable rhythms and sounds of the 1980s and 1990s.

Beats 1 Radio now has official Facebook page

Apple has created the official Facebook page for Beats 1, its 24/7 radio station that broadcasts in more than a hundred countries via the Internet. The new Facebook page is in addition to the service's presence on other social media channels, like Twitter. Before today, Beats 1 Radio posts were published through Apple Music's own Facebook page.

Beats 1 Radio host Zane Love will talk music as a keynote speaker at 2017 SXSW

Zane Lowe, who used to be a host for BBC Radio for many years before moving to Beats 1 and Apple Music more than a year ago, has been announced as a keynote speaker for 2017's South by Southwest (SXSW) music and film festival, Billboard reported Monday.

In addition to a keynote speech from Lowe, the annual confab in Austin will include keynotes from “Rogue One” filmmaker Gareth Edwards, author Adam Grant and Mount Everest photographer and climber Cory Richards.

Beats 1 hosts are permitted to play whatever they want, DJ Zane Lowe reveals

In an interview yesterday with Vice's music channel Noisey, Beats 1 DJ Zane Lowe said that Apple permits Beats 1 hosts to play whatever they want in their designated slot.

Apple's official policy, Lowe said, doesn't call for any restrictions pertaining to shows by Beats 1 hosts such as Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Major Lazer, and other hip-hop artists who have regular shows on the service.

A native of New Zealand's Auckland, Lowe revealed how Apple executive and former Beats 1 founder Jimmy Iovine gave him an important career advice, talked life in Los Angeles, having his own show on Beats 1 and more.

Beats 1 to debut new show by artist ‘deadmau5’

Apple yesterday announced via the official Beats 1 Twitter handle that the service will debut a new show by Joel Thomas Zimmerman, the popular music producer and performer also known under his stage name 'deadmau5'.

The upcoming show is named “Mau5trap Presents” and is scheduled to debut on Apple Music's Beats 1 radio station this coming Friday, March 18, at 3pm PST / 6pm ET.

Apple Music Radio tab enhanced with live schedule, show details and other new features

Apple has refreshed the Radio tab within the stock Music app on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with a dynamically updated Beats 1 banner along with live schedule, show details, host biographies, show artwork and other perks.

As first noted by 9to5Mac, the Beats 1 banner in the Radio section now updates automatically to show the currently-airing live radio show along with information like the show's airing location and artwork.

Apple to live-stream ‘The 1975’ concert on Beats 1 this Thursday

Apple on Monday announced that its Beats 1 radio station will be live-streaming a concert for the band The 1975 this week. The news comes via the official Twitter and Snapchat accounts for Apple Music, which had been teasing the event all day with posts of band lyrics and set photos.

The concert will take place on a rooftop in Los Angeles, on Thursday, February 25 at 9am (PST). The band is expected to play songs from their new album "I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It, but it's unclear if the stream will be audio-only, or video.
