Apple posts new ‘Music Every Day’ iPhone ad

Apple has started airing a new TV commercial for its iPhone this evening. The ad, which it has also posted on its YouTube channel, is called 'Music Every Day,' and it focuses on the handset's ability to play music.

The spot looks strikingly similar to the 'Photos Every Day' ad that started airing last month. There's a subtle piano backtrack, ambient noise, and people from different walks of life using the popular smartphone...

Microsoft uses Siri to highlight iPad flaws in new Windows 8 ad

It's not unusual to see Microsoft and Apple products pitted against each other in a TV ad. Back in the early 2000s, Apple had success with its 'I'm a Mac' spots. And just recently, MS took on both Apple and Samsung in its 'Don't Fight' commercial.

But this new Windows 8 tablet ad takes the rivalry thing to a whole new level. Using the voice of Siri, Microsoft highlights a number of things that the iPad can't do, that a tablet running its latest OS can. As always, we have the video for you after the fold...

T-Mobile’s new iPhone 5 ad uses ‘Intertubes’ metaphor

In his now legendary attempt to criticize an amendment that would have prohibited service providers from charging for a tiered Internet structure, former Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens in 2006 likened the web to a series of tubes. “The Internet is not a big truck," he famously said, "It’s a series of tubes.”

Tapping that meme, T-Mobile USA on Wednesday posted its third iPhone 5 commercial that literally depicts its network as a sewage pipe which pumps out twice as many gak compared to its rivals. The message couldn't be clearer: T-Mobile's pipes aren’t as clogged up as its competitors' are.

I'll be revisiting that commercial in a year or so to check how clogged up T-Mobile's tube gets after data-hungry smartphone users crowd its LTE network. As for the commercial, T-Mobile won the Internet for today. Your video is right after the break...

Here we go again: Samsung picks on Apple in new Galaxy S4 ad

As if it's any surprise, South Korea-based Samsung has (again) resorted to its proven marketing tactics of trashing Apple's iPhone in television advertising. A newly released commercial portrays the six-year-old smartphone as an outdated device, even by your parents' standards.

Samsung obviously thinks the anti-Apple theme hasn't run its course yet (one marketing whiz agrees). I'll let you be the judge of that: check out the video after the break and meet us in comments...

JCPenney airs TV ad apologizing for chickening out of Ron Johnson’s vision

Former Apple SVP of Retail, Ron Johnson, lasted barely a year on the job. After the struggling department store chain reported a $13 billion annual decline in revenue, the board ingloriously booted Johnson whose greatest sin was trying to change way too many things at the same time, namely insisting on his shop-in-shop concept.

The irony of it: the boutique store approach could have easily breathed a new life into JCPenney's garage sale concept and stood a good chance of reinvigorating the firm's fugly brick-and-mortar locations.

Figuring the best thing to do at this point is wash its hands of this whole Ron Johnson adventure, JCPenney yesterday begun airing a new television commercial. Titled 'It's No Secret' it's a pathetic attempt at apologizing for chickening out of Johnson's vision for the company. The video is right past the fold...

Windows Phone ad sees iPhone and Android owners trading insults at wedding

Despite the massive marketing blitz, Microsoft's Windows Phone platform has managed to regain but a fraction of market share lost to iOS and Android in years past. Figuring it could take a page from Samsung's marketing handbook, Microsoft on Monday published on its YouTube channel a new Windows Phone commercial which takes a mandatory jab at Apple's iPhone and its Siri digital personal assistant while also poking fun of Gorilla-sized Android devices from Samsung. The funny ad is aimed at boosting Microsoft's and Nokia's stagnant sales of Lumia handsets in the United States...

Apple this weekend launched a new advertising campaign for the iPhone showcasing some of the many reasons why the handset is so popular. It's added a new 'Why iPhone' page to its website, and has begun sending out promotional emails.

The 'Why iPhone' page highlights a number of the device's features including its Retina display, the iTunes ecosystem, iCloud and more, and the fact that it's won 8 J.D. Power and Associate awards and it's the most popular camera in the world...

Apple has posted two new iPhone commercials this evening. The first one is entitled 'Brilliant,' and the second is 'Discover,' and both of them follow the Cupertino company's recent marketing trend for its iOS devices.

The spots start out with a slew of quickly flashing descriptive words, landing on a final one just before jumping into a quick app demo. And they repeat this a couple of times to an upbeat soundtrack. Check them out...

T-Mobile to AT&T: if our network sucks, why did you try to buy us?

Everyone loves a good fight, especially in the highly-contentious mobile carrier arena. Not to disappoint, spunky T-Mobile is expected to wallop one-time suitor AT&T in a series of upcoming newspaper ads.
