It’s been more than two weeks since the iOS 5.0.1 untether was released. Both the Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team released untether solutions using pod2g’s handy work, but it doesn’t stop there.
Word has it that pod2g has been in contact with members of the Pwn Dev Team, the creators of the Ac1dsn0w jailbreak tool. And it looks like he has agreed to give them his exploit for their new software…
Ac1dSn0w is a tool that’s received its fair share of controversy over what’s contained in the code and what isn’t. Just recently it received an update to remove copyrighted code.
With that in mind, we’ve created a tutorial that shows you how to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 with Ac1dSn0w. Many have wondered if there are any benefits to using Ac1dSn0w over RedSn0w or other jailbreak tools. Check inside as we answer that question and more.
The Pwn Dev Team has released a major update to their jailbreak tool, Ac1dSn0w. The tool was made available to the world a couple of weeks ago as an alternative to other apps for jailbreaking, like RedSn0w and PwnageTool.
Ac1dSn0w Beta 2 supposedly fixes the copyright infringement issues that the original beta possessed. The download file size has also been significantly reduced from over 100MB to about 11MB.
Earlier today we reported on the recently released iOS 5 jailbreak tool called Ac1dSn0w. The Mac-only utility came from the Pwn Dev Team, who aren’t as highly regarded as the Dev and Chronic Dev teams, but they’re well-known.
With that in mind, we posted a tutorial, as we always do, on how to jailbreak your iOS 5 device using the new software. We’ve since learned that Ac1dSn0w contains Apple’s copyrighted code, so therefore it’s illegal to use…
We’ve told you about Ac1dSn0w, the new jailbreak tool from the Pwn Dev Team. Ac1dSn0w is a Mac-only app that jailbreaks iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1. The jailbreak is tethered, meaning that you will have to re-jailbreak every time you reboot your iDevice.
Ac1dSn0w is in its first beta, meaning that it has a few bugs and should not be considered as totally stable. We have already heard that it does not jailbreak the CDMA iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. There are probably more bugs to be found.
We’ve got a full tutorial on how to jailbreak with Ac1dSn0w Beta 1 after the break…
A new jailbreak tool is here, and it’s not from the Dev or Chronic Dev Team. The Pwn Dev Team has released Ac1dSn0w, a new tool for jailbreaking iOS 5 on the Mac.
Ac1dSn0w currently offers a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1 for users running OS X Snow Leopard or Lion. As an alternative to popular jailbreak tools like RedSn0w, PwnageTool and Sn0wBreeze, Ac1dSn0w is available for free right now.
