Campy lets you do more from the native Photos app on your iPhone or iPad

The Photos app that comes pre-installed on every iPhone and iPad is a powerful way to view, interact with, and even marginally edit certain images or photographs. Still, it’s lacking what some users might consider important features, and this fact alone has stirred up some interest in the jailbreak community.

Enter Campy, a newly released and free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer udevs that makes the Photos app considerably more powerful by adding must-have features that Apple seemingly left out when they upgraded the app with the release of iOS & iPadOS 14 this Fall.

Sharecuts makes it easier to share Shortcuts with other iPhone or iPad users

iPhone and iPad Shortcuts have becoming increasingly popular in recent years, especially since Apple began bundling its acquired Shortcuts app with the native operating systems on these devices. It’s possible to download or even share shortcuts with other people, but perhaps not as readily as some users would like, hence the release of a new and free jailbreak tweak called Sharecuts by iOS developer daniel.

This cleverly named tweak allows users to import and export .shortcut files from directly within the app using the native Share menu interface instead of uploading them to iCloud. The developer claims that the feature is actually built into iOS by default, but that Apple has disabled it by default. With that in mind, Sharecuts merely enables it for jailbreakers.

iOS 11-based Electra jailbreak updated to v2.0 with improved bootstrap, tweak injection, & more

Earlier in the month, Chimera Team lead developer CoolStar announced a fresh version of the iOS 12-centric Chimera jailbreak tool with support for the Procursus bootstrap, libhooker tweak injection, and a whole host of back-ported improvements that derived from the newer Odyssey jailbreak. Now, it seems the older iOS 12-based  Electra jailbreak tool is receiving a similar treatment.

As shared early this morning in CoolStar’s official Sileo / Odyssey / Chimera Discord server, the Electra jailbreak has been officially updated to version 2.0 with an upgraded Chimera bootstrap with libhooker tweak injection and other miscellaneous improvements:

Jarvis is the all-in-one command center that all iPhone jailbreakers need

The jailbreak community exists because users demand more from their handsets’ user experiences than the manufacturer might be willing to provide out of the box. The iPhone is no different, and Apple knows that.

The latest jailbreak tweak release to elevate the iOS user experience beyond that of what Apple offers on a stock handset is one called Jarvis by iOS developers SouthernGirlWhoCode and MeBlackHat. Jarvis provides the end user more convenient access to a slew of useful features in such a way that the tweak could only be described as an all-in-one command center.

MilkyWay 3 supercharges multitasking productivity on jailbroken handsets

Multitasking is something that the iOS platform has always been somewhat behind the competition on. While the App Switcher provides fast access to recently-used apps, it’s nowhere near as intuitive as iPadOS’ side-by-side apps or macOS’ windowed applications. Many iPhone users have demanded similar functionality for their handsets for years, but Apple has yet to prescribe a solution.

QuickSearch lets jailbreakers search the web from anywhere on their iPhone

Not a moment goes by that my inquisitive mind doesn't fancy researching something in depth, and for that reason, I think that the internet can be an incredibly valuable resource. Other people in the same boat would probably agree, however picking up their phone to do some research can be a cumbersome, multi-step endeavor.

QuickSearch is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak created by iOS developer iCraze for the sole purpose of making it easier to search the web from literally anywhere on your pwned iPhone or iPad. It achieves the aforementioned goal by allowing the end user to summon a search bar with the help of an Activator action.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: FPSIndicator, Library Card, SettingsButtons, & more…

Things have felt slower than usual with regard to jailbreak tweak releases recently, but that’s to be expected when iOS & iPadOS 14 aren’t ideally jailbreakable on every available device as of yet.

Regardless, we’re back with yet another roundup encompassing all the jailbreak tweak releases and the best jailbreak news to keep you apprised as it happens. This roundup will go over everything from Monday, December 7th to Sunday, December 13th.

SettingsButtons adds useful buttons to the Navigation Bar in the Settings app

Jailbreakers with any interest or intention involving the augmentation of their iPhone or iPad’s Settings application should promptly turn their attention to a newly released and free jailbreak tweak dubbed SettingsButtons by iOS developer Ethan Whited.

SettingsButtons provides fast and easy access to commonly used toggles directly from the Settings app’s Navigation Bar, including but not limited to a Dark Mode toggle, a Respring button, and a Safe Mode button. Examples of these buttons are depicted in the screenshot example above.

This jailbreak tweak adds a frames-per-second indicator to any mobile game

While most serious gamers out there are using either a console or a powerful home-built gaming PC, the fact remains that some gamers like to take their games with them on their travels with the help of their smartphones and tablets.

While the mobile gaming experience isn’t nearly the same as it would be on a stationary system, elite gamers may still take their mobile system performance seriously. This may explain why a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called FPSIndicator by iOS developer Brend0n is now available.

Library Card lets iPad users hide apps to the App Library

One of the new features to ship with iOS 14 is the App Library. Some people like the App Library because it lets them hide seldom used apps from the Home Screen and without the added clutter of folders, while others dislike it because they have less control over how apps are organized as opposed to creating and managing their own folders. Hiding apps to the App Library is optional, but one thing that struck me as odd is that it’s only available for the iPhone.

Library Card is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer garrepi that ports at least one of the App Library’s key features to jailbroken iPads running iPadOS 14. While it won’t bring the full blown App Library functionality like what we have on the iPhone with iOS 14 to the iPad, it will permit iPad users to hide apps from the Home Screen that they don’t use often without outright deleting them.

Boost the aesthetics of your jailbroken iPhone’s Lock Screen with Heartlines

For some people, the Lock Screen is nothing more than a barrier that resides between the user and the apps on their device. For others, it’s the first interface you see every time you pick up your iPhone. Regardless of which camp you side with, wouldn’t you prefer to look at a more aesthetically pleasing Lock Screen design?

Heartlines is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Litten that provides three new Lock Screen styles for the iOS platform, and beyond that, it offers a plethora of configuration options that allow users to get the most out of the first interface they see every time they pick up their handset. How’s that for awesome?
