Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project hits iOS, total mutant mayhem guaranteed

If you're in your 30s, surely you must remember an action videogame franchise that set the genre on fire. Starring a larger-than-life character called Duke, itt was originally created by Apogee Software and 3D Realms, with the voice actor Jon St. John borrowing Duke his distinct voice.

The long-standing Duke Nukem series has since seen numerous releases and the last installment was published back in 2011 by Gearbox Software, which acquired the rights of the franchise the year prior.

Duke Nukem II was ported to iOS last year and now the original king of action is making a comeback in Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project, now available for the iPhone and iPad for $1.99...

Lyne is casual puzzle game with a minimalist appeal

Casual puzzle games in the App Store have traditionally involved cartoon characters, flowing water, and other cute themes. The puzzles may be challenging, but grown ups don’t necessarily want to get caught playing around with big-eyed aliens or plump farm animals. Thanks to iOS 7, many developers have turned to minimalism for casual puzzle games.

Lyne is one of those apps that looks simple, but is a real brain scrambler. It features basic geometric shapes and a calming soundtrack so you can play in public and not feel like you have to hide your screen from coworkers…

Asphalt 8 updated with LaFerrari and other cars, new Daily Bonuses and Win Streak rewards

Gameloft's free-to-play Asphalt 8: Airborne has seen one major update since its App Store debut last August, adding new cars, boosters, limited-time cups and other goodies. And now the time has come for another content expansion enriching your experience with additional features, game modes and cars.

The new update, now available in the App Store, brings a bunch of glamorous new sports cars, including the LaFerrari (also known as the F150), a limited production hybrid sports vehicle, along with new Daily Bonuses and Win Streak rewards...

CES 2014: Signal unveils ‘RP One’ wireless gaming controller for iOS 7

We were hoping that this year's CES would see the introduction of new iOS 7 gaming controllers, given how dismal the options are right now, and so far it hasn't disappointed. Yesterday, SteelSeries introduced its new Stratus controller, and today we're adding another option to the list.

What you see above is the 'RP One,' a Bluetooth gamepad with a traditional console-style layout made by Signal. As you can see, the controller is wireless—meaning you'll be able to use it with your iPad and any other compatible iOS devices—and it looks a lot like the popular Xbox controller...

Loot Hero grinds its way onto your iOS device

I am a former World of Warcraft gamer. Technically, I’m a current player. I just haven’t logged in for a while. I know how monotonous grinding can be. Kill 10 of these to earn this token. Skin 20 of these to get another reward. Sometimes, you just want to loot without having to waste time killing mobs, one-by-one.

Loot Hero is a role-playing “grind fest” that takes the boring parts out and leaves you with nothing but super fast kills and lots of rewards…

CES 2014: SteelSeries announces new wireless gaming controller for iOS 7

During last week's 'Let's Talk iOS' podcast, we mentioned our disdain for the current crop of iOS 7 game controllers. The current selection consists of just two poorly-reviewed devices, and we said we hoped CES would change that.

And it looks like it's going to. SteelSeries, a popular maker of both desktop and mobile gaming peripherals, announced this morning that it's going to use the convention to launch the 'Stratus,' the first wireless controller made for iOS 7...

Feed Me Oil 2 arrives, get downloading

The beginning of a new year is always a good time to release some new software. We're only two days into 2014 and already a pair of nice premium games has made an appearance on the App Store.

Earlier this morning, Sega released its Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed while UK-based developer True Axis brought us the awesome Jet Car Stunts 2.

And now, UK-based Chillingo has released a sequel to its liquid physics puzzler Feed Me Oil, a $2.99 download for the iPhone and iPad. And this time around, oil and water can mix for the first time...

Sega’s Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is now available to download

Rather unexpectedly and with little fanfare, games maker Sega has released a brand new title on the App Store. Called Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, the game is actually the official iOS port of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for consoles and part of its 2013 winter release schedule.

If you've played Mario-like kart racing games such as Rovio's Angry Birds Go!, you should feel right at home in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. A pared down version of Transformed on consoles, the game sports a brand new World Tour mode designed specifically for mobile, with multiplayer both locally and online for up to four players...

Jet Car Stunts 2 has landed in the App Store

Jet Car Stunts 2, the official sequel to the quite popular over-the-top stunt driving game, is now available as a free download in the App Store. Jet Car Stunts 2 for the iPhone and iPad features even more outlandish courses/jet physics than the original, with insane jumps, ludicrous speeds and manic car handling guaranteeing hours of fun to those who've found themselves desperately addicted to the original title.

In what's increasingly becoming the positive trend, Jet Car Stunts 2 supports physical iOS 7 controllers and even includes a level creation feature. Your launch trailer along with additional tidbits can be found right after the jump (pun intended!)...

The winner of many awards and Apple's iPhone Game of the Year 2012, Rayman Jungle Run is presented in beautiful, crisp Retina graphics, courtesy of the same UbiArt Framework engine that powers Rayman Origins, the console-only release and the winner of numerous Game of the Year and Platformer of the Year awards...
