Apple to Unveil 4G TD-LTE iPhone 5, According to China Mobile

After months of "being in talks" with China's largest carrier, China Mobile, Apple seems to have closed a deal with the carrier that includes distribution for the upcoming iPhone 5. On top of that, China Mobile is now saying that it has reached an agreement with Apple to bring an iPhone 5 with 4G speeds to its network.

The report doesn't directly imply that a 4G-equipped iPhone would release on China Mobile this Fall, and recent reports have said that a 4G iPhone won't be seen until at least 2012...

You know Apple is about to launch a new product when spy photos of the device start surfacing in bunches. Last week 9to5Mac posted a blurry snapshot of a purposed iPhone 5 in the wild, but most folks wrote it off as a 3GS.

Today, MacRumors posted another foggy photo of what could be Apple's next smartphone. The image depicts a device that seems to match up with some of the rumors we've heard regarding the iPhone 5's design, and is believed to have been taken in the office of a French carrier...

BlackBerry the Smartphone of Choice for Teens in UK, iPhone for Adults

A new survey by OFCOM suggests that the iPhone is the smartphone of choice in the UK, with RIM's BlackBerry being the favorite of teenagers.

OFCOM spoke to 2073 adults and 521 teenagers in order to find out which smartphone they used, and Apple's iPhone was once again the handset to come up trumps. RIM's BlackBerry got a shot in the arm, with teenagers apparently preferring the Canadian firm's smartphones over the more touch-friendly competition...

Why We Could See a Retooled iPhone 4 This Fall

BGR picked up on some interesting comments made by Brian White of Ticonderoga Securities yesterday. In a note to investors, the analyst cited a report from Sohu.com claiming that Apple and China Telecom were putting the finishing touches on an iPhone 5 partnership.

67% of BlackBerry Owners Ready to Switch Over to the iPhone

It seems RIM's BlackBerry user base continues to decline, according to a new research study from Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. Once the most popular smartphone in the United States, BlackBerry is losing market share rapidly, despite introducing several new handsets and its new BlackBerry 7 OS.

According to the study, out of 216 smartphone users 64 percent of them said their next purchase will be an iPhone, most likely the next-generation iPhone 5. Munster claims that his study also found that 67 percent of BlackBerry owners would switch to an iPhone.

Apple Expected to Launch “iTunes Replay” Soon

Apple has been hard at work on their iTunes ecosystem over the last several weeks. They've enabled Automatic Downloads and added the ability to redownload previously purchased TV shows, and they don't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

AppAdvice is reporting that they have been able to confirm that Apple is about to launch a new iTunes feature called iTunes Replay. The service will allow users to redownload purchased movies to multiple devices, and stream the video content via iCloud...
