AT&T Extends Return Policy Due to 4S Announcement

Good news for folks who pulled the trigger a little too early on buying an iPhone with AT&T in the last 60 days. ModMyi announced this morning that the carrier will be extending its 30-day return policy for recent iPhone purchasers.

While the initial report was based on a purported internal carrier document, iDB was able to confirm the news with AT&T via a customer service representative. Hit the jump for a full rundown of the limited-time return program...

10 Reasons to Buy the iPhone 4S

After introducing the iPhone 4S on Tuesday, Apple was met with an onslaught of harsh criticism for essentially "not living up to the hype." Several rumors regarding a completely redesigned handset seemed to set the wrong expectations.

But level-headed folks saw this coming a mile away. The Cupertino company pulled the same thing with the 3GS. Why recreate something brand new every year, when the cell phone business generally revolves around two-year contracts?

To The Crazy One

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.

They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward.

And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

About this Whole iPhone “4S” Thing

My neighbor Scott told me yesterday he was disappointed because Apple was releasing an iPhone 4S and not an iPhone 5. I asked him if he would have been happier if Apple's new device was called iPhone 5. He said yes, then he thought about it, and realized how stupid his original comment had been.

My friend Felipe told yesterday that he was disappointed because Apple had not updated the design of the iPhone 4S. I asked him if he would have been happier if Apple had unveiled a brand new design. He said yes. I asked him if he thought that the current iPhone 4 was a beautiful device. He agreed. So I asked him what the problem was...

Apple Stock on the Rise Despite the Terrible News

Just like when Steve Jobs resigned from his CEO duties in August, Apple stock is slightly up this morning, despite the terrible news. With the death of the company's visionary, I expected the stock to be down a bit, but it's not at all.

In his resignation letter, Steve wrote, "I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it." Investors seem to agree...

What the iPhone 4S Means to Unlockers

In the first three years of the iPhone's existence, the handset was crippled by limited availability. The only carrier in the US that offered the smartphone was AT&T. And in other countries, the device's exclusivity was just as bad.

This year, however, Apple has been making some major strides. With the iPhone 4S, three out of the four major US carriers will have access to the device. But what does the new handset mean for T-Mobile customers and other unlockers?

What’s Different About the iPhone 4S Antenna?

One part of Apple's iPhone 4S announcement that perhaps isn't getting all that much talk time (see what I did there?) is the new, redesigned antenna system. That's particularly interesting considering how eager everyone was so talk about it, back when the iPhone 4 was suffering from the good ol' AntennaGate debacle!

So, what's so new about Apple's latest redesign of something that most phone manufacturers never even talk about at all?
