This app will fix your wallpaper scaling issues in iOS 7

Since the launch of iOS 7, adding custom wallpaper from your photo library has become a complete pain in the back. When you find the perfect pic and assign it to your Home or Lock screen, it always zooms in way closer than you wanted it to be, cutting of heads, or generally ruining a perfect composition.

Wallpaper Fix is an app that corrects that problem, letting you display your family photos behind your list of apps without worrying about cutting little Sarah off at the knees…

Adding to our list of popular jailbreak tweaks that have been updated for iOS 7 this morning is BytaFont. The developers announced yesterday that BytaFont 2 is now available in Cydia with support for iOS 7 and A7 devices.

This is great news for folks who like to really customize the UI on their iPhone or iPad, as BytaFont allows you to change the default font in iOS. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any of the old fonts are compatible with BF 2...

Day 10 of Apple’s 12 Days of Gifts: free episode of Sesame Street

We are nearing the end of the big 12 Days of Gifts event. We are now on day 10, and Apple has removed the Kings of Leon EP and posted a new item for download. Today’s gift is a free episode of the popular children's television series Sesame Street.

Sesame Street shouldn't need too much of an introduction. Originally debuting in 1969, the series is now broadcasted in 140 countries and has collected over 150 Emmy Awards. It's widely recognized as one of the most popular kids' shows of all time...

BioProtect: Protect individual apps with Touch ID

Hot on the heels of another Touch ID enabled jailbreak tweak comes BioProtect—a tweak exclusively dedicated to protecting individual apps with Touch ID. Unlike the previous tweak we covered, AppLocker, BioProtect's entire goal is solely based on securing individual apps by means of Touch ID.

The singular focus is immediately noticeable while using BioProtect. Its graphics, design, and preferences are all orientated towards the single goal. This makes BioProtect the best choice for those of you who are only interested in Touch ID-based app security. Have a look at our full video walkthrough, which breaks down the tweak, inside.

Mac Pro’s CPU upgradeability confirmed

Despite what some would call a steep asking price, Apple's desktop powerhouse - the new Mac Pro - has been universally regarded by reviewers as the dream machine for content creators who desperately wanted a reasonably priced monster workstation that would make real-time 4K video editing a reality. And despite scarce availability - online orders slipped to February and in-store availability is not expected before March - the new Mac Pro never ceases to amaze us.

Some power users have voiced their concern that Apple would, as is often its wont, lock down the system to allow only for memory upgrades. As it turns out, the new Mac Pro is one of Apple's most expandable Macs, if not the most expandable one.

A teardown analysis by iFixIt has revealed a socketed Intel CPU, accessible RAM and no proprietary Torx screws (go figure!), giving the workstation an eight out of ten for repairability.

Earlier in the week, Other World Computing (OWC) has confirmed that the Mac Pro's Intel Xeon E5 processor was socketed and removable. Today, the OWC team said it's successfully swapped the stock CPU with an eight-core Xeon E5–2667 V2 chip not offered as the Online Apple Store's built-to-order option...

Fantastical 2 now honors your iOS 7 Bold Text setting, improves navigation and more

Fantastical, Flexibits' popular calendar and to-do application for the iPhone and Mac, received its mandatory iOS 7 refresh two months ago. Though a separate purchase (currently 60 percent off: only $1.99 for a limited time), Fantastical 2 justifies its asking price by managing to build upon the already strong feature set of the original release with its nicely redone interface and a host of new capabilities that help take the way you create, edit and view calendar events on iOS and OS X to the next level.

In today's quick refresh, Fantastical version 2.0.4 brings out support for Bold Text accessibility option in iOS 7, along with improved reliability of the app icon badge, a pair of UI and navigation tweaks and mandatory fixes and under-the-hood improvements...

Apple reportedly targeting fall launch for new 12-inch iPad

The 12-inch iPad is real, in the opinion of Evercore's Patrick Wang, and it's going to hit the market sometime this fall. The analyst published a research note yesterday claiming that his supply chain sources have confirmed the existence of the larger tablet.

According to Wang's sources, Apple is looking to launch the 12-inch iPad in the second half of this year. The "hybrid" device will be targeted at enterprise users and likely feature a new (possibly quad-core) A8 processor, increased storage and other upgrades...

BlackBerry going after Ryan Seacrest’s ‘Typo’ keyboard for patent infringement

Last month, we told you about an interesting new accessory coming out this year for the iPhone called the 'Typo.' It's a case with a built-in Bluetooth keyboard that bills itself as the perfect solution for the folks who still carry both an iPhone and a BlackBerry.

Well, as you can imagine, this hasn't sat well with BlackBerry. And today the Canadian handset-maker announced that it has filed a lawsuit against Typo, co-founded by TV personality Ryan Seacrest, for "blatantly" copying its iconic QWERTY keyboard design...

AppLocker: Secure individual apps with Touch ID

A beta build of a new jailbreak tweak with a highly anticipated premise landed in my email inbox late this afternoon, and it's marvelous. AppLocker is a jailbreak tweak that has existed for quite some time, but its beta build was just recently updated to include Touch ID support for locking individual apps.

After trying the Touch ID implementation on my jailbroken iPhone 5s, I can happily report that it works just as well as I imagined. Unlocking is brisk, and seamless. The Touch ID support works with the fingerprints that you already have assigned during the Touch ID initial setup, so there's not a lot of cumbersome configuration to be had with AppLocker.

But enough talking. You have to see how AppLocker works for yourself. Check out  our exclusive hands-on video after the break.
