AlienBlue++ adds additional functionality to the Alien Blue app

Alien Blue is one of the most popular Reddit client apps for iOS and was recently acquired by Reddit. Although the app has most of the features that a user needs, it's still a long way from being a perfect app. This is why a new jailbreak tweak known as AlienBlue++ comes in to fill the gap.

Developed by UnlimApps, AlienBlue++ adds four new features to the popular Alien Blue app to improve your experience browsing Reddit. The tweak comes with a built-in photo editing feature that allows you to edit photos and give them a new touch before posting them on Reddit. For instance, you'll have the ability to add emoticons and texts, choose from a variety of effects and filters, crop the image, draw on it and much more.

The mysterious iPad Air 2 wallpapers… for iPhone

Over the past couple weeks, many folks tracked me down on Twitter hoping I was able to find the images used to market and advertise the new iPad Air 2. Originally on the iPad Air 2 web page, the included images were used as Lock screen splash images. Many people were excited about the new walls, but unfortunately, they did not ship with either iOS 8.1, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3.

The Lock screen images were originally on the website with different iPads, but seem to now be pulled down. If searching in the right place, you can still find the image pictured above. However, a blue-green variant is now seemingly removed. In an effort to support those folks looking for these images, we made them our Wallpapers of the Week.

Reddit is a virtual gold mine of information on countless topics, all organized into subreddits and multireddits, with options to get a customized feed of only what you want to see. /r/jailbreak is a great place to find tweak concepts and help with jailbreaking issues, and there is an infinite amount of other topics of interest on Reddit.

Of course, no social network is complete without an iPhone app, and there are quite a few third party iOS apps for Reddit – so many that it's hard to find a clear winner in every category. Naturally, hardcore Reddit users each have their own favorite app like Alien Blue, but occasionally a newer app, such as Reddme, will come out and gain its own fan base. Ryan Petrich pushes iOS 8 updates for Activator, FlipSwitch, and more

You know things are starting to roll when Ryan Petrich begins to update his vast library of Cydia tweaks. The first such tweaks to receive their iOS 8 updates landed on the prolific developer's beta repo just a short while ago.

Activator, is of course, the headlining feature of them all, since so many other tweaks rely on it for core functionality. It, along with AppList and the FlipSwitch framework were updated.

Using predictive text in OS X Yosemite

République Episode 3: Ones & Zeros now available as an in-app purchase

Last year, an unassuming stealth game found its way into the App Store. Thanks to the incredible talent of the development team at Camouflaj, République gained a massive following and is a big hit with mobile gamers.

This week, the company announced that the third installment of the five-series game has just launched as an in-app purchase. If you are following the epic struggle of Hope and her escape from the oppressive clutches of the Overseer, you can download Ones & Zeros inside the game today.

CVS follows Rite Aid’s lead and shuts down Apple Pay

CVS appears to be following Rite Aid's stupidity, according to MacRumors, and has instructed its individual stores to shut down NFC access on its terminals, rendering Apple Pay unusable during checkout. The problem with this decision is that it not only shuts down Apple Pay, but any other contactless payment technology such as Google Wallet.

These stores have been able to accept contactless payment for who knows how long, but now that Apple Pay has brought needed relevance to the space, companies are beginning to draw lines in the sand...

TinType by Hipstamatic brings 100-year-old photography to the iPhone

When I was a kid, I would dig around in my grandmother’s box of old photographs. I distinctly remember the first time I came across a tintype picture. It was so unusual. Not just because of the silly knickers the boys in the pictures wore, but because of the ornamental frame it came in with the location stamped on the backside. Pangu iOS 8 jailbreak team posts an update regarding Cydia

Details have been a bit hard to gather when it comes to the status and progress of Pangu's iOS 8 jailbreak. Since the initial release and subsequent bug fix update, all has been relatively quiet.

Today on Twitter, the team broke their silence to provide an update on the progress being made towards Cydia compatibility. There's still a lot of work to be done until everything is finished, but it's getting there.
