Watch new drone footage of Apple Park construction progress

Drone pilot and YouTuber Matthew Roberts today published a new 4K drone footage of Apple's upcoming 175-acre campus, officially named Apple Park, which will open doors to employees in April. Recorded using a DJI Phantom 3 Professional, the crisp 4K footage provides a breathtaking birds-eye tour of Apple's particle accelerator—that is, mega headquarters. Watch the video and let us know what you think of the progress being made at the site.

Samsung launches new tablets ahead of MWC, teases March 29 Galaxy S8 introduction

Mobile World Congress 2017 is underway in Barcelona, Spain from February 27 through March 2, but Samsung won't be taking the opportunity to launch its latest flagship smartphone at the event. Instead, as confirmed today, Samsung will be holding its media event on March 29.

Unpacked 2017 is widely expected to serve as a launchpad for Galaxy S8, the company's upcoming flagship smartphone which already leaked via a pair of hands-on videos.

Ahead of Mobile World Congress, the South Korean company also announced two new tablets—Galaxy Tab S3 and Samsung Galaxy Book—and said that Galaxy devices will gain a new level of audio experiences with the integration of audio technology from AKG by HARMAN. As you know, Samsung and Harman a few months ago entered into a definitive merger agreement, valued at $8 billion.

Google Maps gains 3D Touch place previews

Last week, I whined about Google dragging its feet when it comes to implementing support for important iOS features, like 3D Touch, in apps such as Gmail. Other iPhone and iPad apps from Google have been more aggressive in adopting 3D Touch features, including Maps. In the latest update, Google Maps was bumped to version 4.28 and now allows users who have an iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus to press places on the map to get quicker access to popular actions.

SpringChanger lets you customize your respring screen with backgrounds and colors

As we showed you last week, MakeRespringsGreatAgain allowed you to resurrect the classic Apple logo-based respring screen, a classic screen that iOS 10 jailbreakers typically don't get to see anymore.

On the other hand, if you wanted to take things a step further, a new free jailbreak tweak called SpringChanger by Wizages is worth trying out because it lets you customize the respring screen beyond recognition.

This tweak shrinks and relocates the Lock screen’s date and time indicator

A few years ago, a popular jailbreak tweak called SubtleLock rearranged some of the Lock screen’s information pieces to reduce their visual footprint and put more emphasis on the wallpaper you’ve chosen. Unfortunately, despite its popularity, it hasn’t been updated for iOS 10.

Despite the lacking support for those who have recently jailbroken iOS 10 with Yalu, users can now flock to an alternative: a jailbreak tweak called SimpleLSiOS10 by XCXiao. This tweak carries on the minimalist legacy SubtleLock started and never finished.

Third-party iPhone screen repairs no longer void warranty

Apple has changed its long-standing policy which used to fully void your iPhone warranty in case you replaced a smashed screen with a third-party display. According to an internal memo distributed to Apple's retail employees on Friday, confirmed by multiple sources and subsequently obtained by MacRumors, such cases no longer void warranty.

Specifically, an iPhone that has undergone a third-party screen repair is now eligible for an authorized repair by Apple Stores or Apple Authorized Service Providers while qualifying for warranty coverage, as long as the issue is unrelated to the display itself.

Wallpapers of the week: space

Another Sunday, means another day for Wallpapers of the Week. One of our top categories is space or nature images that include the expanse of space or the sky. This week, we once more celebrate nature with a set of space and galaxy images for your iPhone.

The included images are perfect for either a Lock or Home screen, giving you the most options, when it comes to customizability. If you haven't yet jailbroken your device, wallpapers are the best way to change the look and feel.

Kaze brings Auxo’s popular alternative app switching mode to a standalone tweak

Anyone who was a fan of Auxo probably remembers one of its biggest individual features, Hot Corners, which supercharged the experience of multitasking on iOS by empowering you with the ability to swipe up from a specific corner of your device to quickly switch between apps.

This feature is now being reborn in a new free jailbreak tweak called Kaze by Qusic and Sentry. This essentially takes that one feature from Auxo and packs it into a standalone tweak.

ReformX: customize your Home screen layout and more

A number of large springboard customization jailbreak tweaks are paid, and expensive at that, but for those who want a budget option, a new free jailbreak tweak called ReformX by zEstLabs could be just the one you’ve been waiting for.

This tweak provides you all kinds of options for tricking out your Home screen, ranging from the layout of your Home screen icons, to the style of your dock, to the appearance of your folders; the list goes on.
