Fake Jailbreak App Surfaces in the App Store

Ever since jailbreaking began with the original iPhone, Apple has opposed it. Even with all the community has done for iOS, the Cupertino company has continued to fight the process by frequently updating its mobile software with exploit patches.

Given this information, it would seem impossible for anyone to believe that Apple would actually allow a jailbreak utility into its App Store. But apparently it's not. Several folks seem to have fallen for the hoax, and their pockets are lighter because of it...

Sn0wBreeze Adds Support for Tethered iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak

Today iH8Sn0w updated his popular jailbreak tool Sn0wBreeze with support for the iOS 5.0.1 developer beta. This update also fixes the iBooks sandbox and Location Services issue with the iPhone 3GS.

As usual, this update blocks a UDID check and beta timer. This means that you do not need to be a registered developer to use this beta and that you can use the beta for as long as you wish...

‘AppLocker’ Password Protects Your Individual iOS Apps

Here's a pretty useful little iOS tweak, especially if you've got kids who like to go tapping icons on your iPhone, with little regard for your saved game progress or super-important work document you've been editing.

Just as AppLocker's name might suggest, this $0.99 tweak adds a new pane to Settings.app, in which a password lock can be added to all your iOS applications, meaning they won't launch unless you know the special word.

That's all fine and dandy, but AppLocker goes one step further than that...

AllMail Brings Better Mail Management to iOS 5

If you purchased Delete Mail or Mark Read for your iDevice, you may have noticed that neither extension is compatible yet with the new Mail app in iOS 5. The iOS 5 update brings new mail management features to your device, but “Select All” is nowhere to be found.

Siri’s Port to the iPhone 4 Improved

Yesterday, Siri was successfully ported to the iPhone 4 and shown on video. Today, the same person who made that video has uploaded another one, which shows more improvement.

In the first video, Siri was lagging, and looked like it could barely run on the iPhone 4. This is because the GPU was disabled for Siri, putting all the pressure on the A4 processor. As you can see in this video, Siri now works the way it should on the iPhone 4 performance-wise...

RedSn0w Update Released, New Features in Tow

On Saturday, we reported that there was a major RedSn0w update on the way. Dev Team frontman MuscleNerd told the Twitter nation that a new version of the popular jailbreak tool would be hitting the web in the very near future.

Today, jailbreak hacker iH8sn0w released Sn0wbreeze v2.8b7. This update now includes support for iOS 5 Beta 7. Sn0wbreeze is a jailbreak tool for Windows. Also, if you are new to jailbreaking, you can check our general guide here, and our Sn0wbreeze guide here.

The last couple releases of Sn0wbreeze let you use iOS 5 betas without having a developer account and an activated UDID. Along with that, it removes the expiration of betas, making sure the beta will not expire on your device as it is supposed to do at a preset date and time...

The Sn0wBreeze jailbreak tool has been updated to version 2.8b6 with support for iOS 5 Beta 6. This jailbreak is Windows only.

If you don't know how to use Sn0wbreeze, check out our tutorial. This jailbreak is mostly tethered, except for the old-bootrom iPhone 3GS. This version of Sn0wBreeze will also let you install the jailbreak on a copy of iOS 5 Beta 6 without a registered UDID.

iEmu is the Best iOS Emulator Around
