Following the release of iOS 9.1 and watchOS 2.0.1, Apple has also updated OS X El Capitan, bringing to software to version 10.11.1. This update doesn't bring much to the table in terms of new features, besides the addition of 150 new emoji characters.
Along with the release of iOS 9.1 this morning, Apple just release watchOS 2.0.1 for Apple Watch users. Most notably, this update contains support for the new emoji characters already present in iOS 9.1, and improvements to battery life.
Apple just released iOS 9.1 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The software includes new emoji characters, Live Photos improvements, and the usual round of bug fixes.
One of the most notable addition to iOS 9.1 is the new set of 150 emoji, bringing the middle finger and a ton of other characters to iOS devices.
Talk about timing! iTunes is currently having a massive sale on some great albums, all of them available for only $6.99. Of course, if you are an Apple Music subscriber, it might not be worth it to you, but if you like to buy and own your music albums, then there are a few deals in there you can't pass.
Every year, it seems jailbreaking loses a little bit of its appeal. It's not that the community is dying. It's just that hardware and software upgrades brought to iOS devices can make it a little less compelling to jailbreak.
If you are on the fence about jailbreaking, take a moment and read the next few paragraphs. I won't try to convince you to make the jump, because ultimately, jailbreaking is a personal decision, which as you will see, has much more drawbacks than benefits to offer.
Most of us were taken by surprise by the release of the Pangu iOS 9 jailbreak yesterday, and although this is exciting news, there are still some things to keep in mind at this time, such as the fact that many tweaks won't be working right off the bat.
The good news is, Cydia Substrate has been updated for iOS 9. The bad news is, your favorite tweak might not have been yet. Fortunately, the community has once again come together and is working on an iOS 9 jailbreak tweaks compatibility list to help identify what tweaks are currently working and what tweaks aren't.
Just when you thought the jailbreak community was being hit by a tweaks drought, developers come out of nowhere to prove me wrong. For instance, jailbreak developer Creatix is responsible for the launch of no less than four tweaks this past week, and although they won't revolutionize the way you use your iPhone, they certainly will make your life a bit easier.
Kudos to all these devs who are still releasing new tweaks. You guys keep up the good work!
