Phiaton Chord MS 530 review

While wearing my Apple Watch on week one, I kept feeling like something was missing. After listening to this week's Let's Talk iOS, Jeff clued me in. I was missing the music capability. It is somewhat surprising that Apple precluded Apple Watch from playing music through the speaker. Most likely, it is a move to conserve battery power and prevent a poor listening experience on such a small speaker.

Enter a renewed need or desire to have a good set of Bluetooth headphones. Coincidentally, I was contacted by Phiaton to review their Chord MS 530 headphones and happily accepted. The M-series headphones are known for bold styling with a modern appeal and high build quality. Having previously reviewed the Bridge MS 500 wired headphones, I was happy to take a look at the more robust, wireless and noise canceling older brother.

Exclusive Apple Watch-inspired wallpapers

This past week marks the Apple Watch release date, April 24, 2015. Although the date has come under fire, at least a few pre-orders were filled and May/June ship dates are seeing movement. Since the pre-order launch on April 10, Apple removed the April 24 date from the online Apple Stores and Angela Ahrendts released an internal memo all but confirming in-store sales are not going to happen until around June.

Inside, we have the single largest wallpaper selection in an iDB post. Thanks to some great work by Jason Zigrino and Efrain Roa, there are enough images in there to keep you busy while waiting for your device. There are images for iPhone, iPad, and desktop in a wide range of colors that will match any new Apple Watch you are hoping to have in your hands.

Star Wars wallpapers for iPhone and iPad

Star Wars Celebration ends today after a lot of stirrings in the Force. During the previous few days, both the newest Episode VII and Battlefront trailers were publicly released. Panels of cast members shared stories and hopes for the future, including classic cast members from Luke to Chewie to Leia and even the newest droid BB-8. Naturally, thousands of fans flocked to Anaheim for the occasion. If you want to follow along with the last day, make sure to download the official Star Wars Celebration app for either iPad or iPhone.

Following the renewed excitement for Star Wars after the event, we compiled a small list of Star Wars wallpapers. We have never highlighted Star Wars wallpapers in a past Wallpapers of the Week post for a simple reason: there are way to many to choose from. Consequently, this post is in no way an attempt to provide access to all of the best Star Wars wallpapers ever created. Merely, this post is a single entry in the much larger world of Star Wars walls.

NomadClip adds carabiner-style charging to your pocket

I travel a lot. Not necessarily on vacations mind you. I just mean, I'm out and about on a daily basis, gone for side family visits on the weekend, and fly on a somewhat regular basis. Consequently, my daypack is always stuffed with cables for my gadgets, iPhone, iPad, backup battery charger, Bluetooth headphones and the like.

Naturally, there is some overlap there with the Lightning cable, but sometimes you need to charge the iPhone and iPad simultaneously. More importantly, my daypack is made for lightweight daily stuff and every time I cram one more even small item, it gets filled. Thankfully, I've added Nomad's NomadClip to the mix and I can store my charging cable on my belt clip, outside of the bag, and many other non-backpack locations.

WWDC 2015 wallpapers: the epicenter of change

Earlier today, Apple sent out invitations to their 2015 Worldwide Developer Conference to be held Monday, June 8 through Friday June 12. As with all previous WWDC events, it is safe to assume the five-day conference will begin with a kick-off press event and announcement.

In recent years, Apple used WWDC to show off and highlight major renovations to iOS and OS X. With the Apple Watch launch this spring, it is possible Apple may even highlight new opportunities for Watch OS, including native applications for the new flagship device.

Of course, to celebrate, we have included event invitation-inspired wallpapers to match "The epicenter of change" graphics. Step inside to see the handy work of our readers.

This iPhone case protects you from wireless radiations

Pong approached me to write a review of the new Pong iPhone 6 cases with the bold claim the case will prevent cell phone radiation from damaging the user. Of course, I have no way to judge this for myself. Consequently, the information in this article, not so much of a review, is from the information found on the Pong website.

Naturally, I was extremely curious to take a look. While I can account for the build quality, which appears to be very rugged and well formed, the remainder of the radiation conversation will reside on a summary of the details from Pong. With four US patents, why not put on my tin hat and take a look.

Kenu Stance: a compact tripod for iPhone

From the makers of the Airframe, which I also considered the 'perfect' travel companion for car mounts, comes the Stance. Like the Airframe, Kenu designed their newest gadget to be amazingly simple and solve a problem most iPhone users would love to solve.

Many times, I'm out and about, or even at home, and wish I could quickly find something to hold my iPhone in place. Whether FaceTime, Periscope, Netflix, or reading a recipe, Stance is there to help. I own a lot of docks and stands, at least in the double digits, but none of them are as small and versatile as Stance and I'm thankful Kenu sent one for review.

Game of Thrones wallpapers for iPhone

Today, the highly anticipated new Game of Thrones season launches on HBO. Other than another twisting plot, one of the biggest Game of Thrones change is the HBO NOW streaming service launch. The newest service allows Apple device owners to sign up for a free 30 day trial and $14.99/month service following the trial. HBO NOW provides access to all legacy content, movies, documentaries, and current content. It is the same as signing up through a cable provider, but without the headache and added expense of cable television packages. Having signed up myself, I am looking forward to being able to watch new seasons without waiting for iTunes downloads or the Blu Ray box set.

In typical style, the best way to hype a launch is with a daily reminder on your favorite devices. Wallpapers included past the fold are all Game of Thrones images and should get you prepped for the ensuing blood bath that will be episode one.

Apple Watch wallpapers for iPhone, iPad, and desktop

This Friday marks the pre-order date for Apple Watch. You will even be able to walk into a store and try on Apple's newest device. In what has become one of the most anticipated Apple launches since the original iPhone, we are properly celebrating with Apple Watch wallpapers.

As described throughout the launch process, utilizing an Apple Watch will require pairing with an iPhone. The first time the Watch is paired with an iPhone, a short animation video on the Watch will confirm the connection. In a recent, lengthy, and very informative Wired article, a must read for any avid fan, a still capture of the confirmation image is portrayed.

Just beyond the fold, the confirmation image is displayed and our readers were inspired to make wallpapers. Starting with a push from @IanFuchs, we received several variations, which you can download for multiple devices.

Bokeh wallpapers for iPhone and iPad

With another week, comes another set of images for Wallpapers of the Week. Previous posts include popular sections such as geometric wallpapers and galaxy images. However, there are a few wallpaper categories that have yet to be covered within the iDB community.

In today's post we highlight a traditional wallpaper genre, bokeh. Lens tricks and lighting changes determine and define the bokeh genre. As exampled in these standard representations below, focal point and background lighting define0 the imagery.

Supercar wallpapers for iPhone

Each week we throw out a set of images in the Wallpapers of the Week section. With a long weekly run of more than 18 months, it continues to be a popular post. However, despite the running record, a single yet popular genre continues to be ignored.

This week, we right our wrong as we feature hand-selected Supercar wallpapers for iPhone. If this proves to be another top performer, along with galaxy images and geometric shapes, expect to see more in the future. Show your approval by sharing via Twitter or Facebook with the buttons at the top or bottom of the post.

New Macbook wallpapers for iPad, iPhone, and Desktop

Last week, Apple surprised us with a completely redesigned MacBook. Of course, there were leaks in the months leading up to the event, but the new technology and form factor is very astonishing. With a thinner design, new keyboard, Force Touch trackpad, and micro logic board, it is clear Apple is pushing laptop computing forward. Even the USB-C is striking.

In the opening video, a glimmering bubble floats into the Retina MacBook screen corner, showing off color depth and a glass-edged screen. In this week's Wallpapers of the Week post, Jason Zigrino captures the bubble for all devices.
