The Wallpapers of the Week series is advancing in age, and with age comes experience. We keep a close eye on the section and try to determine what readers enjoy, what is a habit, a preference, a hate. Of course, data provide quantitative numbers and comments provide qualitative feedback. Crossing the two, provides a path for further posts.

Naturally, not every reader will find their favorite wallpaper each week and they are always quick to sound off. However, there is a certain thread of wallpapers that always seem to draw positive attention: geometric shapes.

A zombie killing phenomenon, The Walking Dead winter season premier is tonight on AMC, for those viewers in the US. Now in season 5, the show is known for its dramatic thriller storyline that involves a group of once strangers surviving in a post-apocalyptic environment. As the name suggests, not only does the group struggles through personal relationships, but also continuously runs from zombies.

The show easily captures an environment without standard daily life, using vast sweeping shots of vacant territories, empty vehicles, and dilapidated buildings to emphasize the current destruction of mankind. Inside, find a set of Walking Dead wallpapers inspired by the series and the destructed world that is home to zombies.

The animal kingdom is a popular genre of both photographic and illustrated art. The selection today is an honor to the later. Hyperbole of animal emotion or just a play on their stereotypic behavior, the options below are both lively and solemn.

Although there is no particular reason for the selection this week, I must admit to having picked Donkey Kong Country back up on the old SNES. Certainly the splash image above was thought to be a good idea, based on my subconscious reexcitement for the furry fellow.

Last week's post of space galaxies proved to be a big hit! This is a consistent theme proved to be enjoyed by readers. Having posted the Wallpapers of the Week for well over a year, certain trends become apparent to us. Popularity of images can be predicted and we try to stick to topics we know readers will enjoy. Of course, every now and then we need to vary from topic to topic. After all, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Not all wallpapers are created equal. What you see is what you get. And, any other cliche you can think of about imagery.

Today, however, we harken back to a topical wallpaper post theme, made popular by several other previous posts. Focusing today on space, is not a new trend, but a popular version by way of social shares. Step inside for details, downloads and backlinks.

Welcome to 2015! Before moving through our current selection, take a step back through our short 2015 wallpaper recap in the new year posting from last week. Moving forward, we are looking at another long year of wallpapers, starting with a celebration of the cold coming winter months.

In the northern hemisphere, winter just recently started on December 21. Temperatures have been erratic, at best, but the cold chill is starting to finally move in. As I mentioned previously, winter wallpapers are my favorite wallpaper genre and today brings four different chilling images for your iPhones.
