Ocean wallpapers for iPhone and iPad

The popular Wallpapers of the Week section strives to remain relevant throughout the year. Whether posting Apple Event wallpapers as the invitations are released seasonal favorites, we try to maintain chronological relevance, ensuring you have the latest and up to date images on your background.

Summer is in full session for the northern hemisphere and we are celebrating. After the summer solstice, the days start becoming shorter, but it marks the hottest time of the year. Try cooling off with a beautiful ocean wallpaper on your favorite iOS devices.

Airplane wallpapers for iPhone

The Wallpapers of the Week section continues to grown in popularity. In particular, wallpapers for WWDC 15, Apple Watch-inspired images, and new Macbook versions.

One trend in the section is having images that are chronologically relevant. Having just the right image on your device for just the right time of year seems harmonious in some way. Currently, it is travel season, at least in the northern hemisphere. People are taking time away from work to vacation or holiday. It is time to fly.

Last week during WWDC 2015, Apple spent a majority of time launching Apple Music and the corresponding iTunes 13 for OS X. The service will not launch until June 30, but the new Music app logo is already available for download in the iOS 9 beta.

Inside you will find inspired wallpapers for iPad, iPhone and, for the first time, Apple Watch. This fall, watchOS 2 will allow users to set wallpaper images from a specified folder on the device. Start your collection today.

The new official iOS 9 wallpaper for iPhone

Earlier today, during Apple's WWDC 2015 media event, the Cupertino company announced software updates to iOS, OS X, and watchOS. As with previous software updates, Apple always highlights a new title wallpaper for the announcement.

The iOS 9 wallpaper, showed several times during the presentation, pictures the inner curl of a beautifully blue wave. Naturally, we already received requests for the image. Step inside for your reward.

Fresh WWDC 2015 Wallpapers

Tomorrow, Apple begins the annual Worldwide Developer Conference with a keynote that will be live streamed across le world. A long list of what-if's shroud the conference this year, with little or no details about any upcoming features or releases. Of course, we expect updates to iOS 9, OS X, and potentially Watch OS. A new Apple Music service will most likely be launched, but less expected is a refresh to Apple TV and a new streaming media service. For full details, make sure to read through Cody's expansive round up.

Celebrating the upcoming conference, we previously released a set of wallpapers that were inspired by the WWDC invitations. Today's selection is a mixture that is inspired both by the invitation and the banners now hanging on San Francisco's Moscone Center. Step inside to get your new images.

Wallpapers shot on iPhone 6

The iPhone 6 boasts Apple's most impressive mobile camera to date. As part of the campaign to show off the newly developed technology, Apple created a "Shot on iPhone 6 World Gallery" on its webpage. The gallery includes many stunning photos of different subjects, three of which are highlighted in today's Wallpapers of the Week section.

Last week, we also included two images taken from the iPhone 6 World Gallery. After receiving several requests via Twitter for additional images, I found the following on a Spanish site, Botgard. Step inside for the latest downloads.

New Apple wallpapers: they work together beautifully

This past week, Apple released a new store front image highlighting the Apple Watch and its ability to work harmoniously with the existing ecosystem. With an established set of avid Wallpapers of the Week readers, I received several messages on Twitter @jim_gresham, asking if I was able to grab the walls.

I was sent the original extraction by our buddy Jason Zigrino, but the image was too small to utilize for a photo quality wallpaper. As luck would have it, another designer you are familiar with was able to make a few modifications and give you a photo quality download.

Nature wallpapers for iPhone and iPad

Every week, we aim to bring you fresh wallpapers for those beloved iOS devices. In an effort to provide quality images, the Wallpapers of the Week section is populated from walls we find scattered across the Internet, stumbled upon through Twitter, or submitted to me directly.

The majority of today's selection is from quality work by @AR72014. He is always posting great stuff to his Twitter timeline, from original work to modifications of different content. Step inside for some of his latest.

8-bit video game wallpapers for iPhone and iPad

The oldies are the goodies, so they say. With nostalgia for the original games, 8-bit has become a niche genre that is still holding true for some retro style games and gamers. While the early days of Atari and Nintendo required 8-bit gaming, modern technology is very much past its blocky forebears. Yet, some modern classics stick to 8-bit roots.

Today's Wallpapers of the Week selection features a mix of old and new. Where Mario is the classic 8-bit side scroller, modern games like Minecraft keep the spirit alive, although as a stylistic choice, not a technological requirement.

Avengers wallpapers for iPhone, iPad and desktop

In standard Wallpapers of the Week fashion, we try to maintain modern relevance. That means, keeping in touch with the big pop culture items of our time. One of the biggest comic book franchises released their newest installment of the Avengers series, Age of Ultron.

We are still in opening weekend, so a total box office number is currently unknown. However, it will certainly be a hit with lines waiting to get a ticket. What better way to get excited than deck your iOS devices with Avengers wallpaper? Step inside for an assortment of treasures.
