Apple has updated iBooks to support a number of new features including integrated AirPrint abilities for PDF documents and notes. Not only that, but they have added enhanced full color illustration capabilities to the mix.

Now you can read little Johnny a more exciting bedtime story, and afterwards print off the latest notes from today's staff meeting. You've gotta love technology.

According to Apple, the following four features made the cut in iBooks 1.2...

mSpot Enables Cloud Syncing With iTunes But It’s Not Quite Ready For Primetime

The rumors have been circling for quite a while about an official iTunes cloud solution that makes streaming your music anywhere at anytime a reality. While we do think it's inevitable that iTunes will one day ride the cloud, those who are getting impatient now have an unofficial option.

mSpot is that option. An app that has been around for a while on other platforms, but just recently landed on the iPhone.

mSpot makes all of your unfulfilled fantasies about iTunes cloud storage come true; right now you can store 2GB of your music, and download the official mPlayer app free of charge. For those of you with larger music collections (note: like, everyone), mSpot offers you a fairly generous 40GB worth of storage for $3.99 a month...

RetinaAppIcons Converts Your App Icons With No User Interaction

Don't you just hate it when you download an App Store App onto your beautiful iPhone 4, only to be presented with some ugly low-resolution app icon? I don't know about you, but the first thing I do is throw that bad boy in a folder somewhere. Can't have that ugliness de-beautifying my Retina display.

Thankfully, there are ways to convert your icons to retina-worthy icons, but those methods all required some form of end-user intervention. RetinaAppIcons is a jailbreak tweak that promises to take care of all of the dirty work for a nominal fee of $0.99 cents, but does it work as advertised?

Here’s An iPhone App You Probably Don’t Want to Download Over 3G

I think it's safe to say that mostly everyone uses My3G or 3G Unrestrictor to bypass Apple's silly 20MB App Store download limit over 3G. But you might just want to take Apple's advice when it comes to Riven, the 90's-era sequel to the popular PC game, Myst.

That's because Riven maxes out at a whopping 1 gigabyte. That's right, an App Store App 1 gigabyte in size. Some of you might be hesitant to download that over Wifi, let alone 3G...

Want to Use AirPlay But Don’t Have An Apple TV 2?

AirPlay is awesome because it allows you to instantly stream video that you're watching on your iPhone to your television utilizing a $99 Apple TV 2. But let's say you don't have an Apple TV 2, but you do have a Mac mini hooked up to your TV. What to do then?

Before today, the answer to that question was "not a whole lot." Thankfully, though, there's a new OS X app in town called AirPlayer, and it allows you to use AirPlay right on your Mac...

Toshiba And Apple Reach Agreement For iPhone LCD Displays – iPhone 6, Anyone?

We've heard the rumblings about the supply problems stemming out of Apple's current relationship with LG, the South Korean firm that currently supplies the iPhone LCD screens.

In a move that will likely give Apple more control over supply, Toshiba has announced that it will build a factory for 100 billion yen to produce future LCD panels. That's a lot of money, about 1.2 billion in US dollars, which will certainly put Toshiba in the drivers seat when it comes to supplying screens for the iPhone.

Production isn't scheduled to start until Q3 2011, so it's entirely possible that these new screens could be used for the inevitable iPhone 6...

We here at iDB love us some good jailbreak apps and tweaks, but there are few that stand out when you take into account sheer practicality.

Did your favorite app make the cut? Are you totally prepared for whatever situation may confront you in a dire time of need? Are we making this way too suspenseful? Check inside and find the answer...

Light Bright is One of the Easiest Ways to Adjust Your iPhone Brightness Settings

By now, there's virtually a million and one ways to adjust the brightness levels on your iPhone, so is there really a need for yet another way to address the issue?

While there may be other alternatives, few are as quick and simple to use as Light Bright. The developers claim it's the easiest way to adjust the brightness on your iPhone, but is purchasing this tweak a bright idea?

Apple seems to have finally realized that brightness controls are something that end users want quick access too, as evident by their inclusion of multitask bar brightness controls in iOS 4.2 for the iPad. Sadly, there just wasn't enough screen real estate on the iPhone to do something similar...

Cydia for Macs to Go Live “Within Weeks”

With the recently announced Mac App store on the horizon -- which brings an iOS-esque store to Mac OS X platforms -- Cydia creator Jay "Saurik" Freeman plans to strike while the iron is hot.

That could only mean one thing, a Cydia Store for Macs; let's just call it Mac Cydia for simplicity's sake. But the real question is, what use will Mac users have for a Cydia store?

Add Six More To The Growing List of AirPrint Compatible Printers

Those of you with HP printers may want to check for the latest updates, as HP has released software to enable AirPrint for a half a dozen of their printers.

If you're an iDB reader, no doubt you might know of a workaround or two for those whose printers aren't fortunate enough to be stamped with an HP logo, and lack AirPrint support.

If you're one of our more straight edged readers, and choose to go the official route, check inside for a full list of newly compatible hardware...

Anyone Know Where We Can Get a Decent CDMA Engineer?

If you happen to know, give Apple a call, because they're looking as well; that is according to a recent posting on the Cupertino based company's hiring website.

The Cellular Systems Performance Engineer position in particular mentions that the candidate be familiar with various forms of CDMA tech, among other preferences.

Hmm, now if we could just figure out why in the world Apple would need a CDMA engineer. Anyone know? We're drawing a blank here.
