Siri vs. Microsoft’s Tellme Voice Control Feature

Microsoft and its chief strategy and research officer Craig Mundie have been taking a lot of smack over the past couple of days. Mundie made some controversial comments regarding Apple's new Siri feature during a recent interview with Forbes Magazine.

The executive claimed that Microsoft has had Siri-like technology on its Windows Phone platform for over a year, and that Apple's success with it has been the result of "good marketing." But the two systems are miles apart, and here's a video to prove it...

With over 120 million mobile subscribers, China Telecom is bigger than any single US carrier, and it's never had the iPhone. So, you can see why anticipation is building for the operator to start carrying Apple's latest, and most popular, handset...

AT&T Withdraws T-Mobile Merger Application from FCC

Big news coming out of the Lone Star state today as Dallas-based wireless carrier AT&T has announced that it has withdrawn its T-Mobile merger application from the FCC. The operator was looking to buy the Deutsche Telekom-owned carrier for close to $40 billion dollars.

The merger deal has hit some major roadblocks over the last few months. In August, the Department of Justice filed a court complaint to block the buyout. Then yesterday, the FCC sided with the DOJ, requesting a formal administrative hearing into AT&T's proposal...

Infinity Blade 2 Trailer Shows Off Amazing Graphics

During a highly anticipated media event last month, Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S. Although the handset looks similar to its predecessor, it includes a number of internal changes. Among those changes is the addition of the A5 dual core processor.

To show off the iPhone 4S' performance capibilities, Apple demoed the upcoming Infinity Blade 2 title from Epic games. The original Infinity Blade was a hit, and set the bar for in-game graphics. Well its successor doesn't just raise the bar, it smashes it...

The US Patent Office Pays Tribute to Steve Jobs

It's been over a month now since Steve Jobs passed away, and people around the world are still trying to find ways to pay their respects to the fallen leader. We've seen several tributes to Jobs over the past 30 days, but perhaps none more touching than this.

The New York Times points to a new exhibit erected in the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia in honor of the late CEO. The display, which is made up of 30 giant iPhones, showcases all of the inventor's 300+ patents...

How to Use Facebook’s Timeline Feature on the iPad

In September, Facebook unveiled one of the biggest changes to its user profiles since the social networking site launched in 2004: Timelines. The new addition takes boring news feed-based profiles and gives them a storyboard-like feel.

The feature not only makes profiles appear more personal, but also seems perfectly suited for a tablet display. Given Facebook's track record with iPad releases, however, don't expect it to incorporate Timelines into its iPad app anytime soon...

New iPad Cable Allows You to Transfer Photos from Your iPhone

According to Flickr's image upload data, a lot of people use their iPhone as their main camera. Not only is the iPhone 4 the most popular camera (not smartphone, camera) on the photo-sharing site, but Flickr's top 4 cameraphones are iPhones.

And the iPad, well, we all know how popular Apple's tablet is. USBFever might actually be onto something with its new cable accessory that connects the two products, allowing users to transfer photos from the iPhone to the iPad with little effort...

Microsoft: We’ve Had Siri for Over a Year!

Since Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S last month, everyone has been talking about one thing: Siri. The lovable assistant is the product of over 40 years of artificial intelligence research and the US CALO program (Cognitive Assistant that Learns and Organizes).

Siri isn't apparently exclusive to Apple's handset. Microsoft's chief strategy and research officer Craig Mundie recently told Forbes that Microsoft has had similar voice control tech on its Windows Phone platform for more than a year!

We know, we didn't see that one coming either...
