Three Apps to Help You Get the Best Deals this Holiday Season

Black Friday is coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean that the holiday related discounts are over. Even after Cyber Monday (the online version of Black Friday) hits next week, retailers are expected to host a number of sales before the end of the year.

So if you are still looking to pick up gifts at rock bottom prices, you have about a month left to shop around. And here are three apps that will not only ensure you get the best deal on a product, but will also help you decide whether to buy it or not…

Google Shopper

Google’s shopping feature has come a long way in the last couple of years. Now it’s a very strong price-comparison service that easily tops other offerings from companies like PriceGrabber. Google Shopper allows you to search for a product’s lowest price on the web, culling results from hundreds of sites including Amazon and eBay. Think you’ve found a good deal at a local retail store? Pull out your iPhone and use the Google Shopper app to scan the product’s barcode and ensure you’re getting the lowest price.

Amazon Mobile

Amazon is by far the largest retailer on the web. If you are looking for a particular product, chances are that it, or one of its many vendors has it for a good price. Like eBay, Amazon allows sellers to offer new, used and remanufactured goods, which generally breeds low prices. Amazon’s iPhone app enables you to search its massive inventory by either text, or by scanning a product’s bar code. Before you purchase a smartphone accessory, book, or anything else, you’ll definitely want to check Amazon’s prices first.

Decide.com

The Decide.com app utilizes the powerful Decide web service that tracks the price fluctuations, over time, of thousands of products to help you decide whether or not now is the right time to buy. While it can gather a product’s lowest online price from Newegg, Amazon, and other retailers, like the other apps, its biggest trick is predicting when the price of a product is going to drop. Tired of buying something only to see it go on sale a few weeks later? Check the Decide.com app before you purchase.

There are obviously several other bargain-hunting apps available in the App Store, but we’ve found these three to be particularly useful.
