How to change your iCloud and Apple Account profile picture

Learn how to add, change, or delete your Apple account/iCloud profile picture using your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or web browser.

Change iCloud profile picture

If you haven’t customized your Apple account or iCloud profile picture yet, consider doing so to make your account stand out.

Your profile picture is displayed in multiple places, including the iOS Settings app and macOS System Settings, Messages, Mail, AirDrop menus, the iCloud website, the iCloud for Windows app, and your contact card in the Contacts app. Your profile image may also show up in other places, like the Family Sharing list, visually distinguishing your account from others.

Note that:

  • This is an account-level setting, meaning all your devices and the iCloud website will use the same profile image in your Apple account.
  • You may need to wait a few minutes or restart your device to see your new profile image.
  • Keep in mind you cannot update the profile image on your contact card or your macOS user account separately from your iCloud photo.
