Recent versions of iOS and macOS offer the option to reset the iPhone, iPad, and Mac’s Control Center buttons and layout to its default state, which is helpful if you’d like to quickly revert all the changes you’ve made.
If you’ve made too many customizations to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac Control Center but couldn’t be bothered to manually revert them, you can reset your Control Center layout in just a few steps.
Make sure your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 18.1 or iPadOS 18.1 or later, and your Mac is on the latest version of macOS Tahoe 26.
Reset iPhone or iPad Control Center
- Open the iOS Settings app.
- Tap Control Center.
- Tap Reset Control Center and confirm.
Reset Control Center on Mac
- Open System Settings on your Mac running macOS Tahoe 26.
- Click Menu Bar.
- Click Reset Control Center from the bottom and confirm.
Buttons you have added and their layout in Control Center will reset to the default state.
I often customize the hell out of my Control Center. Given the amount of new controls, things can quickly spiral out of control. With this handy toggle, however, I can reset the Control Center layout without going through the pain of resetting all settings on my iPhone.
