Ugreen’s first-ever lineup of NAS devices for home, work, creative pros, content creators and the like is available with significant discounts for early backers.
You’re familiar with Ugreen’s multi-port chargers, power banks, docking stations, adapters and more, but the company is branching out into other areas.
The NASync is Ugreen’s first-ever family of network-attached storage (NAS) devices, showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. A Kickstarter campaign that launched on March 26 is already funded by more than 9000 backers. The devices are scheduled to arrive in June.
Ugreen NASyinc is its first-ever NAS lineup
The NASync comprises six devices powered by Intel’s 12th Gen processors with upgradeable DDR5 4800MHz memory, which is 2-3 times faster than DDR4. The devices run the homemade UGOS Pro (Ugreen OS Pro) operating system.
The NASync series providess professional SHA256 encryption with multi-factor authentication for all the devices connected to the same network as the NAS. Like other NAS products, you get advanced file management features to control who can access what (and when). NAS reduces your dependability on cloud storage. To that end, Ugreen has included robust features to manage photos on your NAS instead of using Google Photos, iCloud Photos, Dropbox and similar services.
Best of all, the NASync works with virtual machines, is compatible with Docker and supports your Plex media server. There’s even an integrated smart assistant that can recognize objects on images so you can search your pictures by text. These and other features can all be managed through Ugreen’s mobile app.

The lineup consists of the following units:
- DXP2800: Two-bay unit
- DXP4800: Four-bay unit
- DXP4800 Plus: Four-bay unit
- DXP6800 Pro: Six-bay unit
- DXP8800 Plus: Eight-bay unit
- DXP480T Plus: SSD-only with four M.2 slots
The DXP2800, DXP4800 and DXP4800 Plus are designed for personal and home use, while the DXP6800 Pro and DXP8800 Plus are for businesses. The SSD-only DXP480T Plus is aimed at content creators, creatives and media professionals.
A plethora of high-performance ports
These aluminum-designed accessories are flexible in terms of storage support. You can use 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch HDDs with various RAID modes supported. On top of that, there are also two additional M.2 slots for SSD storage to speed up caching.
The only exception is the DXP480T Plus, which has no HDD slots but offers four M.2 ones for up to 16TB of all-flash storage space. It is among the smallest and fastest NAS devices, measuring 7.0 x 5.6 x 2.0 inches.
The NASync sports many useful ports such as USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 2, HDMN, SD card reader, PCIe 4.0 x 4 and Ethernet. The pricier six-bay, eight-bay and SSD-only units offer additional perks like two dual Thunderbolt 4 ports (data-only), each capable of transferring up to 40Gbps on, and dual 10GbE ports that can be aggregated to 20G bandwidth, resulting in transfer speeds of up to 2500MB/s.
The two-bay unit has 16 gigabytes of RAM, but pricier models support up to 32GB. The six-bay, eight-bay and SSD-only units run Intel’s Core i5 10 Core chips instead of Pentium or N series and offer expandable RAM up to 64GB.
Pricing and availability
Ugreen offered a limited number of 40 percent early-bird discounts, but those are no longer available. But those who decide to back Ugreen’s NASync can still get significant savings of up to 35 percent versus retail prices.
Early birds pay $259 instead of $400 for the two-bay unit (DXP2800). You save even more money with the six-bay (DXP6800 Pro) and eight-bay (DXP8800 Plus) devices which are set to retail for $1,000 and $1,5000, respectively. As for the SSD-only (DXP480T Plus) model, you can get for $519 instead of $800 until the campaign ends. Of course, you must supply your own storage disks.
The campaign kicked off on March 26 and has already secured over $4 million in funding, well past its goal. The number of early-bird discounts is limited, so hurry up and take advantage of the current 35 percent deal.
