Ugreen launches 65W and 100W Nexode desktop chargers

It’s always annoying to hunt for the right cable and charger whenever some of your devices need more juice. With your laptop, phone, tablet and other devices all fighting for space on your desk, what you need is a very compact power adapter that eliminates your wired mess and saves desktop space.

Ugreen, a Chinese brand that makes premium chargers, has added two new power adapters to its lineup of GaN chargers: one rater at 65 watts of power and a higher-capacity model delivering one hundred watts of power.

These bad boys will juice up your MacBook Air or Pro, iPhone 14 and earlier, iPad, Dell’s XPS laptop, Samsung’s Galaxy phones, Steam Deck and more.

The 65W Nexode power adapter has two USB-C ports and two legacy USB-A ports which lets it provide power to your iPhone, iPad and MacBook. Of course, total power output is shared across ports like with all multi-port chargers. Connecting a single device such as a MacBook Air will get you full-speed 65-watt charging.

Ugreen states that the 65W charger is capable of charging a MacBook Air with Apple’s M2 chip from dead to full in less than 1.5 hours, making it ideal for quick charges at the airport or during travel. Matching the 100W model, it also features the same dynamic temperature sensors for the ultimate piece of mind.

This one has three USB-C ports and one USB-A port. You can connect your iPhone, iPad, MacBook and AirPods case and charge them all at the same time with total power output across all ports at 100 watts. You just plug a device into one of the ports on the charger and they’ll talk to each other to negotiate power requirements and other charging parameters.

If you connect a single device to this Nexode, it’ll draw up to 100 watts of power. So in other words, an M2 MacBook Air connected alone to this thing will be safely fast-charged from zero percent to a hundred percent in less than 1.5 hours.

Features shared across both chargers

Both chargers accept up to 110 volts of input power and are broadly compatible with any USB devices that incorporate the latest Power Delivery 3.0 protocol for fast-charging capabilities, overcharge protection and other safety features.

Apple devices support Power Delivery 3.0 but these new Nexodes also work with other protocols that are commonly used by non-Apple hardware, including PPS/AFC/5V2.4A/BC1.2 and Quick Charge 4+.

Introducing GaN II

The chargers use the latest GaN II technology for a much smaller footprint and decreased heat dissipation compared with non-GaN chargers. For those wondering—yes, Apple offers both GaN and non-GaN power adapters. The new Nexodes run an intelligent power management chip and provide four USB ports. Last but not least, they’re gorgeous—when’s the last time you could say that about a power adapter?

The chargers are enchased in an UL94-V0-rated shell and feature thermal guard technology and dynamic temperature sensors for safe overnight charging and ultimate piece of mind.

Both chargers can be ordered from Amazon, with Ugreen planning to offer them at some point via its official website at ugreen.com. The 65W Ugreen Nexode desktop charger is available for $56 on Amazon. The 100W Ugreen Nexode desktop charger is $100 on Amazon.
