Ugreen’s latest Nexode power bank has a massive 20000mAh capacity

The Nexode-branded Ugreen power bank can fast-charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro or an iPhone 15 from dead to fifty percent in about thirty minutes.

The Ugreen Nexode 100W 20000mAh Portable Charger, as it’s called, launched on December 12, 2023. Like other accessories from Ugreen, this one supports advanced features. It’s equipped with two USB-C ports and one USB-A port.

With three ports at your disposal, you can charge three devices simultaneously, like your MacBook (or a Windows laptop), an iPad and an iPhone.

The Ugreen Nexode 100W 20000mAh Portable Charger is available on Amazon US for $80 (currently on sale for $64) and Amazon UK for £80 (on sale for £64).

Meet the new Ugreen Nexode 20,000mAh power bank

The first USB-C port can put out up to 100W of power, and the other is rated at 30W. Ugreen claims that plugging a 16-inch MacBook Pro with a fully discharged battery into the 100W port will bring the laptop to a 42 percent charge in thirty minutes.

The 30W USB-C port is excellent for charging devices like smartphones and tablets. According to Ugreen, the 30W port can fast-charge an iPhone 15 from zero to sixty percent battery capacity in about thirty minutes.

There’s also a single USB-A port for charging legacy devices that don’t have USB-C. It puts out up to 22.5W of power and supports all fast-charging protocols.

With a 20,000mAh capacity, this thing can fully recharge an iPhone 15 Pro up to 4.5 times and a fifteen-inch MacBook Air about 1.1 times. I like the integrated LED screen providing charging stats like the remaining battery level instead of little LEDs that only give you a rough estimate of the current charge level.

100W of shared power

Like all multi-port chargers, the 100W power output is shared across all three ports. So, for example, if you connect a 16-inch MacBook Pro (which ships with a 140W power adapter), the power bank will feed it up to 100W of power. With a second or third device like your iPhone plugged in, however, the power bank will redistribute its total power output so that all connected devices keep charging.

Such a scenario will cause the MacBook Pro to charge at a slower rate because the first port cannot provide 100W of power with other ports in use. Ugreen also highlights the power bank’s rapid 65W recharge capability.

It takes about two hours to fully recharge the battery in this portable charger, which Ugreen claims is five times faster  than ordinary power banks. To recharge the power bank’s own battery, simply connect a charger to the first USB-C port.
