TrollStore receives minor bug fixes in latest v2.0.14 update

It’s been a hot minute since the last time Lars Fröder’s TrollStore perma-signing utility for iPhones and iPads received any updates, but such is normal when software starts to reach maturity. Nevertheless, TrollStore picked up another update Wednesday evening, officially bringing it up to version 2.0.14.

TrollStore v2.0.14 wasn’t publicly announced, but it was silently pushed to the GitHub repository with the following changes:

– Fix inaccurate pre-applied exploit type identification (contributed by @luken11)
– Fix ldid and the CoreTrust bypass sharing the same error code

As you can probably tell, TrollStore v2.0.14 is far from a groundbreaking or substantial update, but these changes are welcomed given that bug fixes in any capacity are a welcomed addition to software that many of us plan to use in the long term.

If you’re already a TrollStore user, then you can install the latest update with just a tap by opening the TrollStore app and visiting the Settings tab, where you should find an OTA (over the air) update waiting to be installed. Existing users can also go to the GitHub page to acquire the latest build and install it over their existing installation.

Anyone who isn’t already using TrollStore, and plans to use it, should install the latest available version at the time they install it. That said, new or prospective users should be installing version 2.0.14 at the time of this writing, as it’s the most stable build with the latest bug fixes and improvements.

As a perma-signing utility, TrollStore harnesses a CoreTrust bug that allows unsigned application files (.ipa) to be permanently installed on your iPhone or iPad without needing to be signed once every seven days as a sideloading application like AltStore or Sideloadly would require.

We have several step-by-step tutorials showcasing how to install TrollStore for those interested:

Soon, a new app called TrollInstallerX will exist to make installing TrollStore without sacrificing a system app (such as the Tips app) a reality for most devices.

TrollStore supports iOS & iPadOS 14.0 beta 2 – 16.6.1, 16.7 RC (20H18), 17.0 only. There are no plans to support any newer firmware versions unless Apple somehow messes up CoreTrust yet again. Given that they’ve already done this twice, that would seem unlikely.
