On January 23, Apple will launch the 2024 edition of its Black Unity sport band along with a new watch face and iPhone and iPad wallpaper.
The 2024 edition of the Black Unity sport band features a combination of blooming flowers and red, green and yellow. Like before, there’s a matching watch face, titled Unity Bloom, to go with the new band, along with an iPhone and iPad wallpaper.
It’s the sort of thing Apple does each year to celebrate Black History Month, observed annually, to recognize the role of African Americans in US history.

The announcement published today in the Apple Newsroom says the band’s design symbolizes generations working together to dismantle systemic barriers.
Apple went the extra mile to ensure the variety of the basic design:
Apple used a unique layering process for the flowers to create tiny variations in each band’s design, ensuring no two bands are exactly alike. The pin of the band is coated with a durable diamond-like carbon finish that features an etching of the words “Truth, Power, Solidarity” alongside one of four symbolic flower emblems.
The matching Unity Bloom watch face animates when you raise your wrist. You can customize it by choosing between a full-bloom or single-bloom arrangement.
The company also created a new Unity Bloom wallpaper for iPhone and iPad that depicts flower outlines “that fill with color when the display is active.”
How to get the Black Unity band, watch face and wallpaper
The new Black Unity sport band is available in sizes of 41mm or 45mm and S/M or M/L. You can order yours from apple.com or in the Apple Store app starting today, priced at $49 in the United States, ahead of its arrival next week. The new band will be available in select Apple retail stores beginning Tuesday, January 23.
The Unity Bloom watch face requires Apple Watch Series 4 powered by watchOS 10.3, which will arrive next week on Tuesday, January 23. iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3 will include the Unity Bloom wallpaper for your iPhone and iPad’s Lock Screen.
