Meowbrek2 re-jailbreaking utility for palera1n updated to v1.1.5-beta

Users of the meowbrek2 re-jailbreaking utility for A9-A11 devices running the palera1n checkm8-based jailbreak might be excited to learn that there is now an updated version of it available to the masses.

meowbrek2 v1.1.5-beta announced.

Project lead developer @dora2ios announced meowbrek2 version 1.1.5-beta by way of their dedicated Discord server, which included information about what was new in addition to a link to acquire the latest version.

Citing the change log, meowbrek2 introduces the following changes:

– Fixed gPhysSize offset
– Improved gVirtBase/gPhysBase/gPhysSize search method

These changes are largely under the hood, so while they’re not major new features that every user is going to notice right off the bat, they’re still important because they improve the stability and reliability of the mechanisms that make meowbrek2 tick.

If you’re already using meowbrek2, then you can download the latest .ipa file from the project’s GitHub page and perma-sign it over your existing installation with TrollStore. New or prospective users can simply perma-sign the tool for the first time and run it to re-jailbreak after using the palera1n tool.

The meowbrek2 utility is powerful because it uses the kernel file descriptor (kfd) exploit to essentially let you kickstart your semi-tethered palera1n jailbreak again without a computer. In essence, this means your jailbreak becomes semi-untethered.

On the other hand, it’s worth noting that meowbrek2 only works with iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.8 on arm64 devices (A9-A11). It doesn’t support any version of iOS or iPadOS 16, nor does it work on newer arm64e devices (A12 and newer).
