Updated nekoJB beta 2 kfd-based jailbreak for arm64 devices fixes file licensing issues & more…

It was only yesterday that nekoJB developer HAHALOSAH pulled the first beta of the kfd exploit-based jailbreak tool for arm64 devices (iPhone 6s-iPhone X) running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.7.6 due to concerns about the tool sharing files that the developer wasn’t authorized to distribute.

HAHALOSAH promised a prompt remedy, noting that a second beta would be released to address this concern. Fortunately, they’ve made good on their promise, as nekoJB beta 2 was made available to the general public Friday evening.

The latest nekoJB release was announced via both the project’s Discord channel and via HAHALOSAH’s X (formerly Twitter) account. From what we can gather, the second beta of the nekoJB tool includes the following changes:

– Fixes some licensing issues
– Fixes ERR_NEKO_TEMP
– Adds support for some other A11 devices
– Updated patchfinder

If you were already using the previous version of the nekoJB, then you can safely download and install the latest .ipa over your existing one. You can then reboot your device and re-jailbreak using the latest version to ensure that the latest patches are in full effect.

Anyone who hasn’t already tried nekoJB, and would like to, can acquire the .ipa file to sideload with Sideloadly or AltStore or perma-sign with TrollStore from the developer’s website linked below:

It’s important to note that nekoJB jailbreaks the same firmware that palera1n already could. It also makes use of the kfd exploit, which has been known to be spotty in terms of dependability.

That said, you may find palera1n to be a more reliable jailbreak that works every time, and the new meowbrek2 re-jalbreaking utility by @dora2ios can convert your palera1n semi-tethered jailbreak into a semi-untethered jailbreak.

If nothing else, nekoJB is a more versatile option that you can begin sideloading and using straight away without the need for a computer, even initially. With that in mind, it too has a place in the community for those who can’t use palera1n.
