Momentary, Lungy, Face26, and other apps to check out this weekend

Happy holidays everyone, and welcome to the weekend! Once you’re done shopping all the sweet Black Friday deals, be sure to check out the latest edition of our Apps of the Week roundup. This week we have a mindful journal, a beautiful breathing coach, and an AI photo enhancer. And as always, we’ve selected a fun game for you to check out.

Momentary – Mindful Journal

I always say, if you haven’t found an app yet that helps keep your mindfulness in check, keep looking. I’ll serve up this one as a suggestion: Momentary. It’s a mindful journal that allows you to practice gratitude, release worry, and reflect on your week. It’s super private, it’s easy to use, and it’s tailored just for you. Features include daily and weekly goals, “Worry Time,” a technique to postpone worries to a specific time of day, and quick insights for analyzing trends. You don’t need an account, and there are no ads or unwanted prompts. So you’re basically out of excuses here.

Lungy: Breathing Exercises

Continuing on this quest to better ourselves, here’s Lungy, a beautiful app for breathing exercises. I know it sounds dumb, but I recently starting trying meditation, and thus far it’s been like 90% breathing. “Bring attention to your breath.” “Feel the cold air in, and the warm air out.” “Feel the air fill up and expand your lungs.” It’s like we get it buddy, we know how to breath air. It’s literally required to be alive. Anyway, Lungy takes things a step further by having you breath directly into/onto your phone. The app can register it somehow, allowing you to complete tasks like “see if you can breath out to fill the bar at the top of the screen.” There are tons of exercises to pick from, and again the app itself looks great. If you’re at all open-minded about these kinds of things, give it a shot this weekend.

Face26 AI Photo Enhancer in HD

These AI photo enhancer apps are like fireflies in the night air—every once in a while I like to reach out grab one so I can watch it glow in my hand. This latest firefly is the terribly-named Face26 AI Photo Enhancer in HD, and it’s built to help you overcome all sorts of photo-related problems. Have a photo you love that is burry, compressed, yellowed, or otherwise damaged? Face26 Ai Photo Enhancer in HD is here to help (I am going to use the full name every time to show the developers how ridiculous it sounds). Features include colorizing black & white photos, transforming sketches or cartoons into photorealistic images, and more. It looks like a a big chunk of Face26 AI Photo Enhancer in HD’s features are hidden behind a subscription plan, but hey if you’ve got a damaged photo you want repaired, or you just want to play around with AI a bit, Face26 AI Photo Enhancer in HD might be worth checking out.

Truuu: Trivia Quiz Audio Game

I like how we’re just not even trying anymore when it comes to app/game names. “You know what would be crazy? If we did two u’s at the end of Tru.” “What about 3?” “You just blew my freakin’ mind.” I’m sorry, it’s late and I’m kind of just typing whatever pops in my head at this point. Okay, let’s lock in. Truuuuu immerses you in a world of fascinating facts through the extraordinary power of audio-based learning. Joking aside, the concept is actually pretty cool. It serves you up random facts and then tests your knowledge with brain-teasers. It’s all done hands-free, meaning you listen and then respond to questions by speaking, and you can even challenge friends in head-to-head battles. It’s free to play, and there’s a global leaderboard so you can climb the trivia ranks.
