Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

Unfortunately, people get busy, sometimes when important things are going down. That’s why we come at you every Sunday morning with a roundup encompassing the latest news in this space — because we don’t want you miss anything important.

In this piece, we’ll talk about the latest trends in the iPhone hacking and jailbreaking realm spanning the week of Monday, November 13th through Sunday, November 19th.

Important stuff from this week

ElleKit v1.1 released

ElleKit v1.1.

ElleKit, the tweak injection method used by rootless jailbreaks such as Dopamine and palera1n, was updated to version 1.1 on Friday with an important list of bug fixes and performance improvements.

We also learned that this would be the final update to ElleKit, as it has reached maturity. Furthermore, RootHide users will want to wait for the RootHide team to release an updated version of this package that won’t harm their jailbreak detection bypass.

You can learn more about the latest ElleKit update in our full news post.

iOS & iPadOS 17.0.2 and 17.1 unsigned

iOS 17 downgrade firmware.

Apple unsigned iOS & iPadOS 17.0.2 in a move that prevents firmware downgrades from iOS & iPadOS 17.1.

Apple also went ahead and stopped signing iOS & iPadOS 17.0.3 and 17.1 this past week, making it only possible to restore to version 17.1.1.

You can learn more about this and the implications for end users in our full news post.

Misaka updates

Misaka UI.

The Misaka package manager, known for hosting add-ons for iOS & iPadOS 15, 16, and 17 that don’t require a jailbreak to be used, received several updates this past week that benefit the end user’s experience.

You can learn more about those updates in the posts linked below:
