The Dark Pearl theme for MacDirtyCow & kfd devices looks great with Dark Mode

Ever since the introduction of native Dark Mode on iPhones and iPads, there has been no shortage of icon themes that try to make the most out of darker pixel aesthetics.

Dark Pearl theme examples.

One of the most recent themes to be released makes use of the MacDirtyCow and kfd exploits for iOS 15.0-16.1.2 and 16.0-16.6 beta 1 respectively, and it’s called Dark Pearl by iOS developer check0ver.

Dark Pearl made its way to the Misaka package manager app this week, providing a dark mode-inspired icon pack for users.

Unlike themes that we’ve previously shown off for jailbroken devices, however, Dark Pearl’s Misaka depiction page is scant on details such as the number of supported app icons and contact information where users can request more.

In the screenshot examples shown above, we can see that Dark Pearl supports most of the handset’s stock app icons and likely a small subset of third-party apps from the App Store. It’s worth noting that the icons look quite nice too.

If you’re interested in giving Dark Pearl a try on your device, then you can download it for free from the Misaka package manager app. Those who aren’t already using Misaka can learn where they can get it from and how to use it in our full walkthrough post.

Please note that while using Dark Pearl doesn’t require a jailbreak, those who are jailbroken can still use it. Jailbreakers, on the other hand, have a much more diverse theme selection to choose from.
