Nifty add-on for MacDirtyCow & kfd exploits allows for Apple Wallet card theming without a jailbreak

For all the folks who enjoy customizing every facet of their iPhone or iPad, a new add-on is now available for devices susceptible to the MacDirtyCow exploit on iOS 15.0-16.1.2 and the kfd exploit on iOS 16.0-16.6 beta 1.

Cardinal experience screenshots.

Cardinal by iOS developer leminlimez allows users to personalize the appearance of any of payment card residing in the Apple Wallet app.

As you can see in the screenshot examples above, Cardinal is impressively easy to use. The app auto-detects payment cards in the Apple Wallet app, and when you tap them, you can pick a source for a new image and then choose an image from your selected source to use as that card’s background.

In our example, we changed a Discover credit card’s ordinary background to a man in a spacesuit. Of course, you can set the background image to anything you prefer.

When you customize your card’s appearance, the updated appearance shows up not only in the Wallet app, but when you go to use your card(s) via Apple Pay.

For those interested in giving it a try for themselves, Cardinal is available via the project’s GitHub page and can be installed via TrollStore or any sideloading method, including AltStore or Sideloadly.
