Photon Camera, Sunlitt, Yaki Chat, and other apps to check out this weekend

Congratulations everyone, we made it to the weekend! This of course means it’s time for our Apps of the Week roundup, and boy do we have some great picks for you. There’s a minimal yet powerful camera app, a digital sun-tracker, and an iOS-first AI chat app. And as always, we’ve selected a fun new game to check out.

Photon Camera

Transform your iPhone into a professional photography tool with Photon Camera. Designed for the passionate and aspiring photographers, Photon lets you capture the world as you see it, with remarkable ease and precision. Ok, I obviously don’t know enough about this stuff to know if these claims are legit or not, but the developers are saying that you can take DSLR-quality photos…with your iPhone? Seems worth checking out to me.

Sunlitt

Are you tired of not knowing where the sun is, at all times? Me too! Luckily, the folks over at Sunlitt are here to help. The app lets you track and know the exact position of the sun, at any moment. Set the hour and date to see the direction from which sunlight will come at that time. It might sound a little ridiculous at first, but the app can actually really come in handy when: buying a house, so you can know how the sun is going to hit it, setting up solar panels, so you know the optimal panel orientation, parking a car, for optimal shade opportunity, and when taking outdoor phot—hey!

Yaki Chat

If you’ve noticed, I’ve been doing my best to avoid mentioning AI apps on the roundup lately. There are just so many of them, and the novelty is starting to wear off. That being said, meet Yaki Chat — the GPT-powered chat app built specifically for iOS. Look, I know I said I was tired of these things, but look at those screenshots! It looks like the love child of a programming and messaging app. What can you do with it? Heck, I don’t know. But if you want to play with AI this weekend, this seems worth checking out.

Geo Gods

Geo Gods sounds like a group of mathematicians that try to keep order in the Matrix.  “You have offended the Geo Gods.” Anyway, that’s completely unrelated. Geo Gods is actually a solo card game infused with a tile-pacing mechanic, where you use the elemental magic of the Gods to create a godly garden. Each God faction comes with its own set of cards, which you can strategically use to increase the score of each God. Activate the 6 elemental Power Crystals to gain even more score and create the perfect garden. Oh hell yeah, elemental Power Crystals? I’m in!
