We just got finished showing you a new jailbreak tweak called BHTikTok by iOS developer Bandar Helal for augmenting your TikTok app, and now you can enjoy a similar suite of features in your beloved Instagram app too with a new and free jailbreak tweak called BHInstagram.
Once installed, BHInstagram adds a dedicated preference pane directly to the Instagram app so that you can enable or disable more desirable features that Meta has no intention of adding out of the box:
Here, you’re going to be able to:
- Hide all ads from the Instagram app
- Remove suggested posts from your news feed
- Show exactly how many likes a post has received
- Display a confirmation message when liking a post to make sure you want to
- Copy a post’s text description with a tap and hold
- Tap and hold on any videos in your news feed to save them
- Tap and hold on any profile pictures to save them
- Keep deleted direct messages in the chat interface
- Remove last seen from the chat interface
- Disable screenshot alerts
- Enable unlimited replays of one-time play stories
- Disable story seen receipts so others won’t know you’ve seen them
- Lock your Instagram app with a passcode
- And more…
If you’re interested in trying the BHInstagram app out for yourself, then you can download it for free from Bandar Helal’s GitHub page. The tweak supports both rootless and rootful jailbreaks on iOS 15 and 16 in addition to being injected into apps to be sideloaded on non-jailbroken devices. For the latter reason, it made more sense to host the tweak on GitHub than on a jailbreak repository.
