  • The Vietnamese store will offer a similar selection of products and accessories as Apple’s online stores in other countries. In addition, the Vietnamese store will offer Apple’s usual amenities such as free delivery, trade-ins and more.
  • Customers will be able to access the upcoming store via apple.com/vn/shop/ or through the official Apple Store app for the iPhone and iPad.

Apple’s online store launching in Vietnam on May 18

The announcement published in the Apple Newsroom quotes retail chief Deirdre O’Brien as saying Apple was honored to bring the online store to Vietnam and “extremely excited” to be able to provide support to customers.

“With the online store, customers in Vietnam can now discover many of our great product lines and services, connect with experienced experts, as well as experience Apple’s quintessence more than ever before,” reads the machine-translated text.

One of the hallmarks of Apple’s retail business is top-notch customer support. The Vietnamese store shouldn’t disappoint in that regard.

According to Apple, the store will employ a team of experts “who are always ready to share their professional knowledge in Vietnamese” and support local customers. However, some of Cupertino’s retail offerings, such as the recently introduced iPhone video shopping, won’t be available in Vietnam at launch.

This is a significant move considering Vietnamese customers were previously supported through third-party specialists and service providers.

Vietnam is also becoming an important manufacturing hub for Apple as the company has persuaded some of its production partners to open new facilities in Vietnam in order to reduce its reliance on China.

The current boss Tim Cook told investors on an earnings call that the company’s Asia Pacific market segment saw an uptick in sales during the March 2023 quarter. “The switcher and first-time buyer metrics look very good there for India,” he said.

The iPhone maker recently opened two significant new stores in India. And the upcoming Vietnamese store is another proof that Apple is betting on growth in emerging markets—small wonder the company has established a physical retail presence in India. However, Apple’s yet to open physical retail stores in Vietnam.
