TrollStore updated to v1.5.1 to fix bug that caused uninstallation crashes

TrollStore developer @opa334 pushed a small update for the popular app perma-signing utility for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-15.4.1 (and some 15.5 and 15.6 betas) on Tuesday, and it should be on your radar if you’re an existing user or plan to use TrollStore in the future.

Announced via a Tweet this afternoon, we can gather that TrollStore version 1.5.1 simply addresses a crash that could’ve occurred while trying to uninstall the TrollStore app.

This obviously would have been a frustrating bug, as it may have prevented users from uninstalling the app as they would experience the crash when they would try.

Following the latest update, attempting to uninstall TrollStore should work as anticipated, completely uninstalling the app instead of invoking a crash.

If you’re an existing TrollStore user, then you can easily update to the latest version of TrollStore via the in-app update button. But if you’re not already using TrollStore, then you should be sure to download and install the latest version via the GitHub page if you intend to do so.

With TrollStore, you can effectively install any .ipa file you want on your iPhone as a usable app. It’s similar to sideloading with AltStore or Sideloadly except that the CoreTrust bug TrollStore utilizes allows any perma-signed apps to remain signed indefinitely instead of only for seven days.

Because of the nature of this bug, TrollStore will never support any firmware newer than what it already does. We covered why in great detail.
