Video tips: How to use 12.9-inch M2 iPad Pro

So you just got a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Apple’s M2 chip, congrats! Thanks to the latest Apple processor, this thing can capture video using Apple’s ProRes codec. It also supports a new hover gesture if you have Apple Pencil and includes a few other noteworthy perks, like Thunderbolt connectivity and a braided USB cable.

In this 16-minute hands-on video walkthrough, our videographer Harris Craycraft (@_craycraft) goes through some common questions a typical user might have regarding their purchase. The 12.9-inch iPad is Apple’s highest-resolution iOS device with the biggest screen to date so, naturally, some interactions benefit from extra screen space compared with the 11-inch version.

How to order your iPad Pro

You can order your M2 iPad Pro at apple.com/store, in the Apple Store app, at Apple’s retail stores and via authorized resellers. The device is available in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes in silver and space gray finishes with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB configurations. Read: How to multitask with Stage Manager on iPad

The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $799 for the Wi-Fi model and $999 for its cellular-enabled counterpart. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro costs $1,099 for the Wi-Fi model and $1,299 if you want 5G cellular connectivity. The device only works with the second-generation Apple Pencil, priced at $129.

The Magic Keyboard in black and white for the 11-incher is $299 and $349 for the 12.9-incher. The Smart Keyboard Folio is $179 for the 11-inch iPad Pro and $199 for the new 12.9-inch version. The Smart Folio is available in black, white and marine blue for $79 for the 11-inch iPad Pro and $99 for the 12.9-inch edition.
