TIGI Software releases Filza v3.9.5 with support for TrollStore on iOS 15.x

If you’ve been jailbreaking iPhones or iPads for any number of years, then you should be at least somewhat familiar with Filza, which is perhaps the most popular file manager app available today.

On Tuesday, TIGI Software released Filza File Manager version 3.9.5, which updates the popular app to support the TrollStore perma-signing utility on jailbroken iOS & iPadOS 15.0-15.1.1 devices.

This is a particularly important development, as it allows the app to be permanently sideloaded onto a device, jailbroken or not. Other changes in this update include Fish shell support for TrollStore users, and UI improvements & bug fixes.

Thanks to the elevated entitlements offered by the exploit harnessed by TrollStore, this version of Filza lets users not only read /var but write to it as well. TrollStore developer Opa334 adds that this edition of Filza includes a root helper, which means it supports full filesystem access just like on jailbroken devices.

Obviously, users won’t be able to install jailbreak tweaks in Filza installed on a non-jailbroken device with TrollStore because a non-jailbroken device doesn’t have tweak injection. On the other hand, users can still modify system files through Filza.
