It’s time for another episode of our Apps of the Week roundup. This week we have a travel companion for the safety-minded, a radio app for the road, and an NFT browser. And as always, we’ve selected a cool game for you to check out.
Safe-xplore Personal Edition
Safe-xplore is a unique travel app that offers up local safety information such as crime rate and COVID-19 metrics to help you asses your travel risk. I know that sounds extreme for say, going to the lake for the weekend, but for more exotic adventures an app like this might make sense. Hey this is essentially how rich people with protection details travel.
Speaking of traveling, if you are heading out on a road trip any time soon, you may want to check out Reliable Radio. It enables you to program your favorite stations via URL and promises to help keep you connected to them while traveling. The app monitors your wireless connection, and if you do lose service, it will automatically restore your stream when it comes back.
Rarible: NFT Browser
Ok I don’t have the time or the space here to explain what an NFT is, but if you decide you want to see what all the hype is about, this is a good place to start. Rarible is one of the largest NFT marketplaces on the web, and this is their first official app. While you aren’t able to buy or create yet, you can browse the marketplace, like and share your favorite NFTs.
So what do you get when you cross PokemonGO with monopoly and mix in some metaverse? Welcome to ATLAS: Earth. It’s a location-based game where users can buy virtual land that mirrors real-world locations, collect rent, and work their way up to mayor and beyond. The developers make some pretty bold claims, including earning real USD. Color me intrigued.
