How to win 2022 Veterans Day Apple Watch fitness challenge

According to MacRumors, Apple will send a notification to all US-based Apple Watch owners ahead of the upcoming Veterans Day to inform them of the new challenge.

To win the challenge, you’ll need to complete any workout that’s at least eleven minutes long, either in the Workout app or a compatible third-party app that supports data integration with the Health app. In exchange for this, you’ll receive a Veterans Day-themed virtual medal and stickers for use in Messages and FaceTime apps across your devices.

“Earn this special award on November 11 by doing any workout for eleven minutes or more”, the notification reads, according to MacRumors. “Record your time with the Workout app or any app that adds workouts to Health”.

As this particular challenge is focused on Veterans Day which is a US-only holiday, it will only be available to US-based Apple Watch owners. However, people who don’t live in the US can work around the limitation by changing their watchOS region settings to the US.

Doing so will make the challenge appear on your wrist even if you don’t live in the US.

Past Veterans Day challenges

Apple Watch has been celebrating Veterans Day since 2017 with themed challenges in the Fitness app. These challenges typically require the user to complete a predetermined workout in the Workout app or any third-party app capable of logging workouts in Health.

On some occasions, the company also honors Veterans Day with special promotions on App Store offering curated app selections and so on. In almost all cases, completing a challenge earns you a virtual medal that can be viewed in the Fitness app on your iPhone along with an animated sticker for your Messages chats and FaceTime calls.

Interestingly, in 2017, 2018 and 2019 you had to perform and record a workout running eleven minutes long to win Apple’s challenge. And this time around, as we told you, will be no different as you’re expected to log an eleven-minute workout.

Eleven minutes, get it? Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11.
