Apple TV+ “Foundation” featurette discusses a character journey of epic proportions

“Foundation” has recently premiered on Apple TV+ as a major science fiction epic from the mind of American author Isaac Asimov. Apple has now shared a short video less than five minutes long discussing “a character journey of epic proportions”.

The video was shared via the official Apple TV+ account on YouTube.

Based on a science fiction book series from Isaac Asimov (first published as a series of short stories in 1942–1950), “Foundation” tells its vast story across the span of several centuries. Filmed at Troy Studios in Limerick, Ireland, “Foundation” premiered on September 24, 2021, with generally favorable reviews.

After commissioning a 10 episode straight-to-series order, Apple TV+ has reneged this giant novelistic show for its second season. “Foundation” also includes a companion podcast. Showrunner David Goyer compared the sci-fi series to HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” saying the show will tell the whole story over the course of 80 episodes, which works out to about 80 hours of content.
