Apple TV+ original holiday Peanuts special ‘For Auld Lang Syne’ will premiere December 10

Way back in 2018, Apple secured streaming rights for Peanuts content. The characters from the comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz are already available to watch on Apple TV+, including holiday specials. And now there is even more new content on the way.

Today, Deadline is reporting that Apple has set a premiere date for a brand new, original holiday special starring the Peanuts cast. The upcoming special is called For Auld Lang Syne, and it will be produced by WildBrain. The upcoming special is already set with a premiere date, which is penned in for Friday, December 10, 2021.

Luckily, we know what the upcoming story is all about, too. According to the original report, For Auld Lang Syne will tell the story of a Peanuts gang that experiences a rather unfortunate Christmas because grandma can’t be present. But there’s hope for New Year’s Eve.

Lucy decides she’s going to throw herself the best New Year’s Eve party ever. On the other side of the coin, Charlie Brown is determined to accomplish at least one of his resolutions before the clock strikes 12 and a new year kicks off.

The finer details of the upcoming holiday special:

The new special is from a story by Alex Galatis and Scott Montgomery, and written by Galatis, Montogomery and Clay Kaytis who also directed. Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, Cornelius Uliano serve as executive producers alongside Paige Braddock for Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, and Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, Amir Nasrabadi and Anne Loi for WildBrain Studios. Also from WildBrain Studios are producer James Brown, pre-production producer Timothy Jason Smith and associate producer Cassie Price.

There’s no trailer just yet, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that. But this one sounds promising! Especially if you’re a fan of the Peanuts crew.
