Apple confirms September 14 iPhone 13 event

The online-only event will be broadcast on the Apple website, via the TV app and through the company’s channel on YouTube on Tuesday, September 14, at 10am PT / 1pm ET, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Greg Joswiak, has officially confirmed on Twitter.

According to clues from online sources and recent leaks from Apple’s carrier partners, the next iPhone will almost certainly land on store shelves the week after the September 24 unveiling.

The company is expected to begin taking pre-orders for the iPhone 13 family shortly after the prerecorded September 14 presentation finishes broadcasting.

Say hello to Apple’s AR surprise

Similar to several previously held Apple events, the company has also prepared an augmented reality surprise regarding the September 14 iPhone 13 event, found on its website.

Just point the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad to the Apple Events webpage at apple.com/apple-events, then touch the main illustration for the September 14 event.

The embedded augmenter reality experience should start shortly.

Another Apple event coming next month?

This won’t be the last Apple event in 2021.

If history is anything to go by, Apple should be holding another event in October to unveil what’s next for the iPad family. It may also use the second event as a launchpad for the next round of Apple silicon refreshes—namely, we’re expecting an updated 16-inch MacBook Pro along with a new 14-inch model, both powered by the upcoming M2 chip.

Last but not least, this is increasingly looking like a jam-packed season of Apple product launches, which is to say that the company might also announce the next AirPods model and perhaps some HomePod mini refreshes in September or October.
