iPhone 13 said to start preorders on September 17, launch on September 24

If things pan out the way many expect, Apple is going to announce a new iPhone lineup, along with plenty of other devices, in the early part of September. Relatively soon after that, preorders will start. Then, like clockwork, the handsets will launch and people will be able to get their hands on them. First, though, the rumor mill has to keep trying to fill in the blanks.

Not too long ago, a rumor cropped up based on a date leaked on a Chinese retailer’s website that the iPhone 13 lineup will open preorders on September 17. And according to a separate report from Front Page Tech, that lines up with the information shared to them by their own sources. Which means the middle part of September will be quite busy if all of this lines up.

That aforementioned earlier report also suggested that AirPods 3 would be unveiled around the same time, with a launch before the end of September. This latest report says that’s possible, but doesn’t actually confirm anything in that regard.

It’s with the iPhone 13 lineup that the report aims to shed more light. Which, according to FPT, Apple will send out press invitations for the September media event on Tuesday, September 7. One week later, on September 14, Apple will unveil the iPhone 13 line and the other devices. Next, preorders will go live on September 17. And what’s interesting about this is FPT says all four iPhone models will go up for preorder this time around (the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max), unlike last year. Which will probably make plenty of people happy.

And then it all comes together for September 24, 2021, when the new iPhones will launch.

That all seems believable, to say the least. Nothing seems out of line or impossible. At this point, it remains to be seen just how exciting the September event will be. We’ll obviously see new iPhones, but how about a redesigned iPad mini? M1X-equipped MacBook Pro models? New AirPods? Maybe the Apple Car!? (Not really.) But if all this is true, we don’t have much longer to wait.
