AirPods Pro and AirPods Max get better Find My support in iOS 15; Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos launches in Apple Music

With iOS 15’s announcement out of the way, it’s time to get to AirPods.

With a new feature called Conversation Boost, the beam forming microphones, AirPods will reduce ambient noise and focus on a conversation taking place in front of you. With iOS 15, there are new Announce Notifications. Siri will read important notifications to you out loud, just like Messages.

Notification preferences are already taken into account.

With Find My and iOS 5, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max can be found in the Find My network. They send out a Bluetooth beacon that’s secured, relaying that information to the network. If they’re nearby, just play a sound and you can find them. With the new Proximity View in the Find My app will let you know when you’re getting close.

There are separation alerts for AirPods Max and AirPods Pro, too.

Apple is updating Spatial Audio to support tvOS as well. The full surround experience is automatically tuned for the set-to box, with dynamic head tracking support. macOS with M1-powered processor is supported as well later this year.

Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos in Apple Music is launching today, June 7, 2021.
